Mrs. Turtle's Picture
Mrs. Turtle, Central California Age and Occupation: 21, Art Student/Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 22, English Student Engagement Date: August 16, 2008 Wedding Date: July 2010 Venue: Mr. Turtle's Grandparents' backyard, Arroyo Grande, CA About Me: I am a California girl who loves the beach and the mountains, but is quite satisfied living right in the middle where I can enjoy the best of both worlds. I am happiest when traveling to faraway places, wandering through museums, watching old movies, or baking up a storm. Mr. Turtle and I are high school sweethearts and fellow book nerds who both drive Mini Coopers and are most likely to be found browsing in antique stores. We're having so much fun planning our European garden wedding with a vintage twist and can't wait to share more of life's adventures together!
About Mrs. Turtle

In Part 1 of my shoe search saga, I got the call that my wedding dress had arrived, giving me a sudden sense of urgency in my search for the perfect pink pair of shoes. After “my” petaled Louboutins disappeared off the face of the planet, I expanded my search. There weren’t as many pink pairs out as I’d expected, but I was not ready to give up hope!

My shoe search got even better when Mr. Turtle’s parents volunteered to buy me any pair of wedding shoes I wanted for my birthday! (I know, I am one lucky girl!) I finally zeroed in on these beauties:

“Micha” by Bourne

I told FMIL Turtle that I’d finally chosen the pair, so she went online and ordered them from Nordstrom. I remember feeling so relieved! But unfortunately, the next day, she got an email from Nordstrom saying that they were actually sold out of the “Micha” in my size. Luckily, they still had them on Endless.com! She placed the order and when they arrived, I LOVED them! Like, more than I have ever loved a pair of shoes!

But there was a huge problem: the shoes ran way too big. Like, I know you can’t tell how huge they are in the pictures, but no padding or shoe inserts could have made it better. When my heels were up against the back, my toes weren’t even visible, and I could barely walk in them! We immediately went online to order the pair in a smaller size and they were gone! I called the customer service line at Endless, and talked to the sweetest employee who genuinely seemed as devastated as I was when I told her they were for my wedding. But the shoe in this color had been discontinued, and there was nothing she could do about it. Luckily, Nordstrom had the shoes in a smaller size so once again, I placed an order! And once again, I got an email from Nordstrom the next day saying that they did not have the shoe in stock. I called their customer service line, trying to be as charming as possible. It didn’t make a difference. The shoes were gone. So, pretty much, Nordstrom.com lies.

Goodbye beautiful shoes. :(

Are you searching for a particular color shoe that doesn’t seem to be in abundance right now? What color is it?

OMG those are amazing! I’m sorry they’re out - but I agree with Quiche - give us your size and I bet we can track ‘em down!

Ugh! I am going through exactly the same thing as you, and very ironically, Endless just happened to have the shoes in my size, and just the same they didn’t fit!! Nordstrom has them but of course not in my size…what to do???

That’s just tragic. :( They really are beautiful shoes, though. Still, I’m sure the perfect shoes are still out there. Miss Sea Breeze had a pretty crazy (and rewarding!) shoe search saga if I’m remembering correctly. I can’t wait to see what you end up with!

I’m sorry to hear about the rollercoaster ride of shoes! I hope you find the right pair!

I’ll be wearing flip flops on my wedding day since it’s on the beach but I’m jealous of everyone’s shoe adventures!

OOOoh I feel you all right. I’m in the market for green shoes (jade green, not kelly or emerald or turquoise) with a 2 to 2 1/2 inch heel. My dress won’t need to be altered if I can find a heel this size, and I won’t have to worry about plummeting to my death off sky-high shoes… I’ve been looking for about a month, to no avail. My wedding isn’t until October so I’m hoping to have some luck this summer. Keep your fingers crossed for me, bees!

Mrs. Turtle have you looked at the Coloriffics shoes? They may not be identical to these but I have a feeling you’ll find something you like there!!

My personal favorite is the Dani but don’t forget to check the Sizzle collection - you may like the shoes there!

Have taken a look at Badgley Mischka? I’m getting these in black for my Church wedding…but they come in pink, too. http://www.endless.com/Badgley-Mischka-Womens-Randee-T-Strap/dp/B002MXYM4S/184-3675760-5215666?ie=UTF8&suppressRedirect=1 (I thought of them when you mentioned “your” petaled Louboutins)

I totally know what you mean ‘tho. On the look out for ivory wedges for my outdoor wedding…just can’t seem to find what I want.’

Good Luck!

aw, that’s so sad. they are gorgeous! i was searching and searching for apple green shoes for my bms and couldnt find any that i like/were affordable. i finally found a pair in off broadway shoes that were on sale for $35. they weren’t the exact style i was looking for, but they were the right color and i did like them. i was going to hold off until spring, but decided to grab them anyways. good thing, because spring has sprung and i’m not seeing very many green shoes.

you’ll find your perfect pink shoes! im wearing kate spade in clarice. it’s super hot pink though..

I had the exact same issue! Though, I did manage to find my dream shoes in a direct factory outlet store!!! After months of searching, I went shopping with my FSIL and we stumbled across the shoes down from 149 to 49 WITH 20% off as it was one of the last pairs!!! So my dream shoes ended up costing $39.20!

Moral of the story: Keep your hopes up. If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be!

Also, LOVE the chair!
