Mrs. Jellyfish's Picture
Mrs. Jellyfish, Pleasanton, CA Age and Occupation: 27, Law Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Air Force Pilot Engagement Date: February 21, 2009 Wedding Date: September 2010 Venue: Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery About Me: In a nutshell, I’m the most optimistic worrywart you’ll ever meet. My family emigrated from Romania to San Jose, CA when I was 8, and I've been a Nor Cal girl ever since! My fiancé is also a Bay Area native, so it’s funny that we met at UCLA, as college freshmen living on the same floor (go Bruins!). Between his career as an Air Force pilot and my path to becoming a lawyer, our relationship has been anything but typical. We currently live together in Berkeley with our puppy Stinson. In addition to spending time with the loves of my life, I enjoy crafting, attempting complicated recipes, environmental law and non-law school reading (Us Weekly, anyone?). Follow along as I plan an elegant 200-person winery wedding, graduate law school, take the Bar exam, get married and get used to the always unpredictable but never boring life of a military spouse!

Our Favorite Registry Items

March 28th, 2010 @ 3:00 pm by Mrs. Jellyfish

…never even made it to the registry. Since our engagement party happened about a month into our 19-month engagement, we hadn’t set up our registries yet and as a result, we received a lot of gift cards and checks as gifts. So, we ended up using that money to purchase a few of the items we really wanted ahead of time. Here are our favorites:

Our Favorite Registry Items : wedding pleasanton registry 15 1

Nespresso C100 Essenza Automatic Single-Serve Espresso Machine with Milk Frother (Source)

This espresso machine changed my life.

I’m not a drip coffee person, but I didn’t want to buy an espresso machine that would require lots of cleaning and work. Enter the Nespresso. It uses a pod system, and produces very authentic tasting espresso. The model we purchased also comes with an electric milk frother, so whipping up a Cappuccino takes mere seconds. I love it, and use it several times a week. Even Mr. Jelly, a non-coffee drinker, indulges once in a while.

Our Favorite Registry Items : wedding pleasanton registry 21 2

Roomba iRobot (Source)

Ah, the Roomba. Kind of gimmicky, but 100% AWESOME. It’s a robot that cleans your carpets, people! It really does work, and I love the ease of it all. We purchased this from Costco with some of the gift cards we received. It’s also pretty hilarious to watch Stinson watching the Roomba.

Kitchen Aid 90th Anniversary Mixer (source)

The coveted Kitchen Aid mixer. Once I saw the candy apple red 90th anniversary edition with glass bowl, that was it for me. I just had to have it. My FMIL actually bought it for us as an early wedding gift because she wasn’t sure how long the 90th edition would be around. We’ve already used it a bunch and it’s a great addition to our kitchen.

Were there any registry items that you just couldn’t wait for? Did you buy them ahead of time, like we did?

aww.. Roomba. I love watching Roomba works. It’s awesome. Our darn coffee maker broke and we just had to replace it so there went one of our coveted potential registry gifts.

I want a roomba but Macys and William Sonoma don’t have it :( Maybe I’ll use the $$ we get for one! I also have my eye on a bissil or dyson…but those I’d have to push ;)

I also registered for an espresso/latte/etc maker…mmm I hope I get it :)

And the red mixer? so fun yet so classic…I love it :) That is my most coveted item…except not in red, though it is lovely!

My FI bought me the mixer as an engagement present! Like the big sparkle-y ring wasn’t enough! ;)

We have an espresso maker on our registry too. Really hope we get it! Definitely buying it ourselves if we don’t. :)

I want a Roomba!

Also, KitchenAid mixers are to die for. I Craigslisted an Artisan and couldn’t imagine cooking without it anymore!

The single serving espresso maker is such a good idea! Oh and we put the old green color kitchenaid on ours but I might have to switch it now for the 90th anniv…it would match our Red Kitchen!

i love that kitchenaid mixer! i already have one- but that glass bowl makes me want to buy another one! haha! Our coveted items were a toaster and waffle maker :) Out of our 9 years together, my husband and I never owned either one, despite our constant want for them! We were so excited when we got them! :D

I read somewhere that KitchenAid will be making the glass bowl available for sale later this year… (separately). So don’t go out and buy a new mixer for the glass bowl, ladies! You can get it separately! :)
