Mrs. Poodle's Picture
Mrs. Poodle, Santiago, Chile/San Bernardino, CA Age and Occupation: 27, Industrial & Web Designer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Firefighter & Mountain Patrol Engagement Date: February 25, 2009 Wedding Date: January 2010 Venue: Mr. P's Grandparents’ Ranch About Me: I’m a Chilean girl who's crazy about nature and swimming. I enjoy carving, drawing, reading and sewing; I drool over computers, fabric, pretty paper, purple and patterns. To me, chocolate should be one of the seven wonders, right next to lemon pie. I never thought an exchange work experience program was going to change my life forever, but while working in California, I met Mr. Poodle, and ever since my days are better and brighter. We are two goofy souls that, after finding each other, couldn’t help but want to be together forever. It has being a long and sometimes hard road, since we have to deal with such a long distance between us, but we are now facing the last stage of our Fiancé Visa, and soon we will be together. You know the best part? We will be married! So I’ll be blogging from Chile until just a few months before our “green and purple” wedding.
About Mrs. Poodle

Things have being pretty busy at the Poodle house, and not only here, but our venue (Mr. Poodle’s grandparents’ ranch) is also experiencing a lot of transformation into our dream ceremony and reception site.

Remember the first post I wrote about making our own chapel? There I showed you all how many friends and family have being working really hard to help us out. Well this post is no different; even my MIL got to drive the loader around to help pave the grounds to make a beautiful aisle with rock paths on the sides.

An while my MIL and I worked on shoveling, my FIL set all the stones for the aisle.

We gathered all the rocks close to him to make it easier on him. He’s so awesome!

After that we all called it a day and came back the next weekend.

The next step was to frame all the windows and walls, and to do a little work on the aisle.

They made deep enough holes in the ground so the walls wouldn’t need extra support on the sides.

And then they set the frames up! YAY! This was the first one! :)

After that, they set some rocks around the altar:

and dug the hole for the fireplace.

[ Curly loved that place ]

Now from the road you can really tell there’s something shaping up!

They called it a day again and got ready to work the following weekend. While they all worked hard on the chapel, I got some wonderful BEE-craft help! Do you recognize these ladies?

How about now?

[ Mrs. Moonbeam, me, Curly, Miss Stripes & Mrs. Sprinkle]

The wonderful Moonbeam, Sprinkle and Stripes drove up to help me out because, well, we only have two weeks before the wedding and the projects seem endless right now. I am so happy and thankful they helped me out! We had a lot of fun crafting and eating fabulous cupcakes!

[ Thank you girls! They were delicious! ]

After we finished up some projects, we headed down to the ranch to go check on the guys’ hard work that day.

To my surprise, the fireplace was running and almost done!

The doors were up, and the corners and windows have already being sided! I call that an AWESOME JOB!

Here we are checking out the altar. :) My FIL wants to keep the altar and the fireplace, so we can all go camp and have fires, s’mores and lots of fun!

And of course, we had to get a BEE picture with a window panel as our background! smile05

Each time I go to the chapel field, I love it even more! and I don’t think I can thank enough all of Mr. Poodle’s family and friends for helping us in such an amazing way.

As I mentioned before we are now only 2 weeks away from the wedding, and I already know that these next two weeks are going to be even more busy than the previous ones, so I wanted to let everyone know that I won’t be able to blog much. I DO have lots of projects I want to show you all before I start my recaps so, since usually it takes quite some time to get the pro pics, I will blog about all of those projects right after the wedding.

And just to tease you all a little bit, here are some of the projects I want to show you all:

I will also know the answer to my mom’s second visa application this week, so please send a lot of good vibes our way! :)

xoxo, Poodle!

Yay-Poodle (I think I spied Curly in your pics!)-things are really coming together. Wow-what an endeavor. So awesome to have all of that Bee support (it may be the best thing about this site). I’m excited to see your DIY posts and your pro pics after the wedding–I am having a hard time putting everything you’ve done together in my mind! I’ve got my fingers crossed for your ma’s Visa!!
