About Mrs. Hot Dog

At the beginning of this process, I started off with this inspiration board.

The Non-Color-Palette Color Palette : wedding cheyenne color schemes Board2 board2

Pinks, yellows, and browns. Boots. Jars. Country chic.

So far we’ve stuck pretty close to this color palette. But recently, we’ve subconsciously been drawn to other colors as well. Blues, purples, greens…

So we’ve been adding these in small amounts through fabrics and some signage…

Also, I was thinking about flowers recently and LOVE pictures like this:

It has such a fun, romantic feel. And the use of color is AMAZING! The blues and yellows and pinks and purples… they all go so well together! I’ve been finding myself looking at this photo a LOT lately…

Have you had any shifts in design since the beginning of your planning adventure?

We had a hard time with just B&W, so we added red…then we added damask.

Uh yeah, I’ve had shifts a plenty! I am way far out from the wedding date but I change my mind just about every other day (I am a gemini!). From colorful vintage rustic fall to more sophisticated golden fall…the one thing I know is the Fall part! Hahaha, good luck, can’t wait to see how this works out!

I had the same dilemma with color, so our theme is now “summery colors.” :) I decided to use a multicolor balloon picture as the foundation for our color “theme”: http://hoyawedding.blogspot.com/2009/06/balloon-inspiration.html

I threw out the idea of a color palette in favor of a wedding theme! Vintage rustic. I keep trying to remember that when I look at magazines (fashion, home decor) no one uses a color palette of just a few perfectly matched colors. Instead, it’s about texture and a natural flow. I say use all the color your heart desires, and your wedding will have a feeling, not a paint chip perfect look! Matchy matchy is so 80’s!

I think the more color, the better!

I love both options! The second is more vintage-y.

We pretty much stuck to the same palette, but some of our ideas changed regularly.
