About Mrs. Piglet

As cocktail hour came to a close, the guests entered the reception room through the lanai-balcony doors while Mr Piglet and I hung with the bridal party at the opposite lobby entrance awaiting our introductions. We know the emcee usually does this, but since our emcee was part of the bridal party, we turned to our very good friend Dan to take on the intros.

You can always count on Dan for some unpredictable behavior. That day, it was him being MIA. We didn’t have to wonder/worry for too long, because friends spotted Dan walking from the beach, surfboard in tow, finger to his lip in the *shh* gesture. I have no idea how he did it (sprinted I imagine), but he made it with time to spare, looking quite dapper no less. He was greeted with some punches and kicks courtesy of the groomsmen. Feel the love? :D

With mic in hand, Dan kicked it off.

“Ladies and gentlemen… please give a warm welcome and round of applause as we introduce the wedding party…”

Each pair had a little number planned for their intro, and they totally rocked it!

I love watching the video since we didn’t see their dance moves live. And Dan, well… he was kinda sorta amazing! His energy was contagious and it really set the tone for the evening. Think Michael Buffer doing his “let’s get ready to rummmmble” bit. Dan held onto the last syllable of the name being introduced for a good 3-5 seconds. Listening from outside, Mr Piglet and I looked at each other, mouths agape thinking WOW! Unfortunately, I had to edit him out with the music, ya know, the whole privacy thing. :D

And that little lady right there, well, I owe my ‘happily ever after’ to her. She introduced me to Mr Piglet in college thinking we were a perfect match. Neither of us agreed with her at the time. He thought he was too cool. I thought he sucked for not buying me a sandwich at Sheetz. :D But I suppose timing is everything. A couple years later, we had that awkward conversation asking if we were boyfriend/girlfriend. And now, ta-da, we were married! Thanks Minniepooh <3

Before our introduction, we played our wedding slideshow. It’ll probably (most definitely) be a snoozer for most of you. It’s lengthy at 8 minutes long. But I thought I’d post it (for a little while), in case any of you are brainstorming ideas for your slideshow or would like to see my sister and me showing cows during our 4H days. We copied the format of this slideshow we found on YouTube. It starts off with our parents’ wedding photos, then alternates between me and Mr Piglet over the years while trying to include as many pictures with our friends as possible. Oh, and Mr Piglet has lots of naked pictures as a baby. They’re in there. Consider yourself warned. :D And if you managed to get to the end, the last clip of Mr Piglet singing was a prelude to our first dance.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the trip down memory lane.

And finally, our entrance as Mr and Mrs Piglet. :D

We skipped to the tune of ‘The Proclaimers – 500 miles’, and circled half the room high-fiving people along the way.

And ended up at the dance floor…

Your pictures are fabulous! Looks like your reception was so much fun ;) I also didn’t think your wedding video was a snoozer! It was so sweet… and Over the Rainbow was a great choice for background music!

P.S. I just have to HIGH FIVE you, fellow former 4-Her!!!! I had Pygmy Goats & Rabbits :P
