A Recipe for Disaster

March 31st, 2010 @ 2:35 pm by Mrs. Trail Mix

Step 1: Add in a healthy heaping (138, to be exact) of Trail Mix’s lovely, hand-cut, far-too-time-consuming directions insert for the invitation suite.

Step 2: Insert direction slip into invitation envelope, only to find that said slip is too long.

Step 3: Turn the insert around and repeat Step 2.

Combine all three of these steps to equal one angry-faced Trail Mix.

MOTHER F——-!!!!!!!!!

I’ll check back in with y’all later because right now, I have to go to Staples for more (smaller) copies of the directions…

Tell me you’ve done something boneheaded like this, so I know I’m not alone… please? Before I actually start tearing out my hair and mumbling to myself like a crazy person.

Poor TM! That is really frustrating! I am sorry that you had to go through that, and yes, I have done that sort of thing myself.

Have a SAFE drive to Staples! :)

yeeeah…i totally did something like that with my save the dates. luckily my parents have an awesome wholesale paper store nearby and they literally went and bought new envelopes that were big enough for the paper.

That’s a huge bummer!! I have done that with work related stuff before.

Love the mean face though ;-)

Instead of doing directions and hotel cards, we put the url to our password-protected website on a single insert. And then proceeded to screw up the password. I am STILL fielding phone calls from confused guests.

You’re not alone! Faceplamers unite!

Oh no! I know it is a pain now, but someday you will look back on this and laugh. :)

All my save-the-date cards had to be resized to fit into the envelope. After I used the lace edge hole punch on them. They all had to be reprinted, recut and then re-hole punched. It was AWESOME.

Oh yeah… I have definitely made similar flubs!! (though so far, not throughout the wedding planning process.) However I do still have a seemingly endless list of DIY projects left to tackle…

Love the angry face!! : ) Best of luck with your 2nd batch of directions!!

I HATE to laugh at your pain, but seriously, that self portrait cracked me up Miss TM! I hope everything got sorted out OK in the end, and thanks for the laugh (even though it is NOT FUNNY!!! I KNOW!!!) :)

I printed 50 pages of my programs before I realized that the margins on the right side were funky and cut off part of my text.

I didn’t have enough paper to do as many as I planned. Oh well. People will have to share. I gave up.

i handmade all my sisters invitations (by gocco), and embossed and after i addressed all the invites handed my grandparents theirs, and they looked at it and said this has the wrong day on it. turns out proof read means do you think this looks nice in my family, not make sure all the information is right.

ok now that I have stopped laughing hysterically from your “I’m going to flip a sh**” face, let me follow with the obligatory “aww, that sucks” phrase. Cause it does, but you’ll laugh about it later . . much later :)

Oh booger! I’m lazy, so I’d fold those suckers and be done – good luck with the reprinting!

The same thing happened to me!! I ordered my envelopes separate from the invites to get a fantastic shade of blue. When we got them, I was so EXCITED to put them together only to find that the invites were BIGGER than the envelopes. My solution, order new envelopes. :-)

TM, you crack me up! I’ve had my fair share of printing mishaps, so I feel you! It’s anything but funny (at the time). :D

Yup.
My maps didn’t fit in the pocket of the pocketfolds I bought!
Now I have a post in the classifieds!
