And another Chicago Bridal Market post. I saved the best one for now!
Last week, Mrs. Emerald and I got to attend the last day of the Chicago Bridal Market with Kate from Project Wedding. What a fun experience. Let me share some cool new trends and goodies we ran across.

We noticed a lot of dresses emphasizing the natural waist line.

Dresses are also really customizable. Check out Watters has created belts for their dresses. One dress can be made to look 3 different ways.
Maggie Sottero and their detachable bow.
Unique necklines and sleeves could be seen everywhere.
And I saved the best trend for last! Feast your eyes on the CONVERTIBLE DRESS!

The 2 sections stay together using really tough Velcro. It’s pretty awesome! I also learned that Private Label G does quite a bit of customizing. So I highly recommend you discuss possible customizations with the store sales person and compare with the cost of a seamstress making changes. You might be surprised what is cheaper.
Mrs. Powder Puff also shared a Liz Field’s convertible with you in her Chicago Bridal Market post as well.
How awesome is that!?! Apparently, bustling could be a thing of the past.

I saw the convertible dress when I was initially looking, but I’m not a fan. The idea is fantastic, though!!! Just not for me. And BTW, is it just me or does that last Maggie just look like her dress is falling down?
@Mattel: Yeah, probably not for me either, but I thought they were so cool. Do you mean the back of the Mori Lee? The model had started to take off the skirt already.
The Mori Lee reminds me a lot of a dress by Martina Liana that I fell in love with. Maybe the Mori Lee will be more in my price range (but not as blingy or fantastic…compromise?).
@Hot Wings no, the Maggie right above the Watters with the lace top. The one with the off-the-shoulder straps. Something about the proportion or the placement of the straps/dress in general just look to me like it’s plain fallin’ off
@Mattel: haha… now that you mention it, I see it! Her boobs might show any moment.
Are the Watters belts being sold separately from the dresses? If so where can I find them? I looked at the website but didn’t see anything yet.

Ooh, the Claudine is sexay! I have yet to brave one of these shows.

I really love that first one shouldered one, but SO much eye candy!
I love the Watters dress 3 ways and may of the Steven Birnbaum ones. That must have been so much fun!
@aroosa: Actually, they’re suppose to be Fall 2010 dresses. Most designers said you should start seeing them in stores this summer.
