Weddingbee Blog

I know everyone says this in their first post as a new bee, but seriously… I think I had a mini heart attack when I found out I was going to be the newest bee over here at Weddingbee. Sweating, heart racing, red faced, jumping up and down… the whole shebang.

And being the lovely Miss Dolphin? I am in heaven. How cute is that moniker, hibiscus flower and all? I’m in LOVE!

I bet y’all want to know who Mr. Dolphin and I are. Well, I’d like to start out with this cute picture of the both of us.

Yes… that is us in 3rd grade together. Mr. Dolphin leaning out of the frame is typical Dolphin behavior. Isn’t he a sweetie?

Mr. Dolphin and I first met 15 years ago, when we were 8 years old and in the same 3rd grade class.

We didn’t start dating until high school, and now, 8 years after our first date, we are (finally) tying the knot. Mr. Dolphin attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL for Digital Media, and I attended (and am currently in Graduate School at) the University of Florida (I ♥ the Gators) in Gainesville, for Architecture.

Both of our fathers are UF Alumni, so the love of Orange and Blue started at a very young age for us.

I’m a self-proclaimed Gator Bride. I love all things Gator (and so does Mr. Dolphin). Living in Gainesville, the home of the Gators, you can’t help but love them. And Tim Tebow? My second love!

Although we are big Gator fans, we are not having an Orange and Blue wedding, as so many people have asked me (aqua and yellow are our colors of choice)! But, we do plan to incorporate our love for the Gators in our wedding tastefully… and boy do I mean tastefully. You will soon see!

Mr. Dolphin and I are both designers. We spend many long nights working on personal design projects beyond our day jobs and classload. We are having so much fun designing every detail of our wedding. At our house, you can find us many nights up late, side by side, at the computer, designing water bottle labels, invitations, our wedding website, basically anything related to our wedding. I guess you can say we are workaholics. But, we love it!

Mr. Dolphin and I had our engagement shoot on the UF Campus.

I’m so excited to share with y’all all the DIY projects Mr. Dolphin and I have been tackling together. He has been a very hands-on groom, which has been absolutely wonderful, since I’ve been trying to finish up my Thesis semester of grad school. We are getting married 2 weeks after my Master’s graduation. Am I crazy? Probably. But, I’m loving every minute of it!
