Flowers!

April 1st, 2010 @ 9:24 am by Mrs. Oyster

I know I write a lot about dresses, but it might be nice for me to focus on something other than fashion. I realize that I haven’t written much about my favorite floral arrangements! And by the way, I *love* flowers!

I’ve really been drawn to flowers that are kind of in a neutral palette, since that goes with our venue pretty well. I love pink, but don’t like hot pink or “baby” pink. We’ll see what we end up with… but so far, here are my favorites.

I love the idea of tying little bouquets to the aisle chairs. Originally I was set on having rose petals on the floor, but I think this might be more elegant… and easier for our venue to clean up! Plus, they look great with the chivari chairs! Ours are gold, like the ones pictured below: (Photo by Stephen Karlisch).

For the tables, I love this neutral one. I imagine we’d add a little more pink, but in general this is the style I like: (photo by Cherie Photo)

I personally don’t believe in having too much contrast in the bridal attire; I think it would be nice to have one seamless look. That said, I love these monochromatic textured bouquets, like this one: (photo by Stephen Karlisch)

Flowers! : wedding dallas flowers Bridal So far, those are my favorites. Who knows, I might channel some other style in a month and change it all! But these are the looks that make me melt.

And finally, I don’t know what I’d do with this, but it fits our color palette and I sure love looking at it (from Southern Weddings):

What’s your flower style? Are you drawn to bold colors or soft bridal ones?

chivari chairs!?!? Lucky! I love your neutral palette. But I also like the bold. I’ve got a wedding identity crisis and it won’t go away with flowers either. haha. I like your aisle bouquets too. Maybe you could even reuse them for reception decor.

I love bold colors for flowers, but not for my wedding. I’m sticking with mostly white flowers (calla lily, asiatic lily, & roses) for all my floral arrangements with a subtle green rose or hydrengea here and there. Love the chivari chairs with mini bouquets!! Gorgeous!

I adore the bouquets tied at the end of the aisles - and the monochromatic texture bouquet is beautiful. Good luck deciding!

I love your ideas about the flowers! I am the same way, I love a monochromatic look. I think it gives a certain feel and elegance to the event. I think this is the perfect idea for your formal affair! I love color as well, but it would be one shade of the color, i.e. all dark purple flowers in a centerpiece or bouquet as apposed to light, medium and dark purple flowers all mixed together in one bouquet or centerpiece.

I wanted an off-white-ish monochromatic bouquet until a week before the wedding. Then I changed to add more color. Haha. You never know. I love the pics you posted. I will try to attach a pic of my bouquet, which was similar.

I love bold colors, but I also like the look of a white bridal bouquet. I am going for a mostly white bouquet with a few pops of bright pink.

I definitely love the softer ones! I don’t like bold contrasts in weddings.

Definitely bold, but I’m not much of a wedding flower person. We’ll only have my bouquet for the wedding.

I’d have to say both, but I bold gets me much more excited and happy! I love a good ballet pink now and then, though!
