Mrs. Taco's Picture
Mrs. Taco, San Francisco Age and Occupation: 29, writer/editor Fiance's Age and Occupation: 37, editor Engagement Date: May 13, 2009 Wedding Date: August 2010 Venue: The Green Room at the War Memorial Veterans Building About Me: I like laughing and talking with good friends over good food and good drink, be it wine, cocktail, or brew. I write and edit things for fun and profit, but I rarely "write" these days without a keyboard and high-speed internets. Favorites include Mr. Taco, my Boston terrier, San Francisco, getting out of town, and the Roaring ’20s. I was kind-of planning a wedding since roughly 2006, when I discovered "Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?" on the WE channel. I ran and didn't look back with a theme I called "urban vintage," and it culminated in the most magical day a taco could ask for.

Engagement Pictures Redux

April 2nd, 2010 @ 11:33 am by Mrs. Taco

I re-look at pictures all the time. I like taking pictures, going places with people I like, and then reliving life’s most favorite experiences constantly through the computer screen. I go through Picasa albums over and over again just to remember what a great time I had at x place at y time with z people. It helps when I’m in a vacation drought or even if I’m having a stressy day, since scrolling through old pictures is a far healthier alternative to throwing my laptop out the office window.

May Bride S had her engagement photo session recently, prompting me to remember our own marathon photo shoot all those months ago (it feels like years). Them being magical photographs, I look at them a little differently every time. I therefore came upon a few others that made me happiest today, which was definitely the point investing in them. We got a couple framed ones, now gracing a shelf in our living room, from A for Christmas. But these lovely moments won’t go anywhere else beyond the save-the-dates, the guestbook table, and the wedding scrapbook (LOVE scrapbooking, BTW). However, they (and our wedding photos) will surely run the digital paces whenever I feel like calling them up. Do any other photophiles do the same?

Have you taken a 2nd look at your engagement or wedding pictures? Did you find that you love a whole new set of pictures this time around?

Even after my wedding, I still love looking at the e-photos. One we have framed in my living room still takes my breath away when I see it.

@Miss Sewing: We took a tiny little bus! But I have walked/run up for workouts, and it is INSANE.
@Miss Trail Mix: I do, too! He actually doesn’t so much, since he got them all kind of randomly when he was younger. Can’t imagine him without them now, though!
