I enjoy playing Scrabble with my Fiance, rooting for the Florida Gators, making any drink that involves a blender, cleaning (yes... I’m crazy), design... GOOD design that is, the new Pepsi with natural sugar, taking pictures, discovering new places in the U.S., and obsessing over doing (and designing) everything myself for our upcoming wedding!
About Mrs. Dolphin

Last summer I had the opportunity to accompany a courageous friend to her boudoir shoot. Many brides choose to do a boudoir shoot before their wedding day, but my friend’s wedding day has come and gone, so she has chosen to give the photos as a gift to her husband (lucky him!). I had been nervous about doing a boudoir shoot for quite some time, but knew that this was something I might want to do for my hubby-to-be. There is just something about skimping down to my undies for a photographer I don’t know that sort of creeps me out. So, my friend (we will call her the ’guinea pig’) was testing  the waters for me.

The photographer we went with was Jaime from Sweet Serendipity Photography out of Gainesville, FL. Jaime held what she calls a “Rockstar Session” at the The Camelia Rose Inn (a local bed and breakfast) in the ’Anticipation’ room (by the way, super awesome room). I have to say we were both incredibly nervous going into this, but Jaime and her sister were incredibly nice and easy-going. We turned up some tunes and handed my friend (the guinea pig) some champagne as she posed (tastefully!) in her lingerie.

Before diving head first into a boudoir shoot, you will need to find some inspiration…

You gotta keep it classy and tasteful girls!

Remember, boudoir shoots don’t have to be risqué—they can be very classy if the pictures are taken with the right photographer. Make sure to communicate exactly what you are looking for with your photographer.

I definitely recommend bringing a friend that you feel comfortable with when doing a shoot like this (you will need someone to help you get ready, amongst other things). Be sure to have poses and ideas about how you want your shoot to go. My friend arrived hair glamorized and makeup completed. She did a fantastic job and her husband was incredibly surprised and shocked when he received his ’little black book’.

Here are some pictures of some of the other ladies who had their boudoir pictures taken by the lovely Ms. Jaime of JLS Photography

Jaime at Sweet Serendipity Photography did such a great job that I immediately booked her for my own boudoir shoot last September. I am so happy with how my photos turned out. Rhey were seriously awesome, and I’m so proud of myself for going through with it.

I plan to put all the photos into a little black book for Mr. Dolphin (which he will receive on our Wedding night; I really don’t want his groomsmen seeing these photos!).

So far, the photos have come in handy. I gave Mr. Dolphin a framed 8×10 of one the photos for our anniversary (which he loved), and a small framed image for Christmas. I think he has forgotten that I even did the shoot, which will make receiving the book all that more exciting!

I know… you all are waiting for me to show you a sneak peek from my shoot. While these pictures are for Mr. Dolphin’s eyes only, I can’t help but give a little cropped image to my sweet Weddingbee readers… so here it is:

Did any of you decide to do a little boudoir shoot for your husband-to-be? Have you thought about it, but have been too nervous to do it?

GORGEOUS!!! :)

I did mine last week and can’t wait to get them back in about 2 months! I used my wedding photog, raw photo design– who was male by the way but his wife was the second shooter so I felt a little more comfortable. I also brought my 2 besties, champagne, and an epic playlist! I was nervous and the day before even thought about backing out but it was SO MUCH FUN! I think my FI is going to love them!

Ladies thinking about doing them?? DO THEM! Not only for your hubby to be, but for you! It was liberating, fun and I felt so sexy.

I did 30’s style pinup photos for my future hubby for his 30th bday. Originally it was going to be a gift for his hooch wall when he was deployed again but he was medically discharged before that every happened. I went to http://www.atomiccheesecakestudios.com in Baltimore and Stacey was AMAZING! I felt so pretty dolled up! Hubby came too and at times he was drooling over me. =)

I have one scheduled for August to give my hubby the photos for our 1st wedding anniversary in September! I’m excited, nervous, and trying to figure a way around the tan lines I”m sure to have!

I am planning to do this for the hubby-to-be…. eventually. It sounds so vain, but I’m waiting for my hair to get longer before I do it. My hair only just skims my shoulders right now and all the photos I’ve actually liked have featured girls with longer locks.

I’m actually doing this for my bachelorette party #1. My sisters and I are going to Boudoir Louisville and having a pin-up party, but I’m also going to take some more sexy shots and present my FI with a book of me after the wedding.

My boudoir shoot is in August with my wedding photographer who is a guy. I’m totally nervous since I’ll be going to it alone. Did you do your own hair and makeup?? I love it!!!

I’m doing my B session this summer with our wedding photographer. It’s going to be a combined wedding and birthday present for my honey (his birthday is the day before our wedding). I just need to get my butt to the gym so I can tone it up for the shots! :)
