Mrs. Sprinkle, Los Angeles Age and Occupation: 26, Preschool Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, Television Production/Writer Engagement Date: December 24, 2008 Wedding Date: September 2009 Venue: The Marvimon House About Me: I'm a Bay Area native trying to create a life for myself (and my fiance, and our three cats!) in the vast city of Los Angeles. I love vegan red velvet cupcakes, pilates ,and mid-century furniture. Mr. Sprinkle and I met when my band toured through his city (we bonded over cake and a mutual love of Morrissey) and we are getting married on the four year anniversary of our first date. About Mrs. Sprinkle

Sprinkle Soiree: Leaving the Party (A Wee Bit Early)! : wedding los angeles pictures pro pics recap Leaving
As it was nearing the end of the night, and festivities were winding down, I suddenly realized that I was exhausted. Beyond exhausted. Like, falling down on the floor and sleeping right there exhausted. I felt like collapsing. Apparently someone agreed:

Sprinkle Soiree: Leaving the Party (A Wee Bit Early)! : wedding los angeles pictures pro pics recap Leaving01 BUT then, then I realized that Mr. Sprinkle and I hadn’t taken any photobooth pictures as a couple, so we ran over there for a few moments.

Then our photographer snagged us for a few last minute shots.

Sprinkle Soiree: Leaving the Party (A Wee Bit Early)! : wedding los angeles pictures pro pics recap Leaving02 Sprinkle Soiree: Leaving the Party (A Wee Bit Early)! : wedding los angeles pictures pro pics recap Leaving03 Then we got distracted by the Smiths and danced some more.

Then I probably had another drink (or two).

Then some guests started leaving, and we gave hugs and said goodbyes.

Then our photographer left and we gave hugs and said goodbyes.

Then our videographer left and we gave hugs and said goodbyes.

Then we might have danced a little bit more because I can’t help myself.

Then finally, I turned to Mr. S and whined that we needed to leave, like, now.

We weren’t the first to go (most of the people there with small children had already left) but we definitely weren’t the last. Most of my family was there still, as were a few straggling dancers and a few straggling drinkers, too!

Sprinkle Soiree: Leaving the Party (A Wee Bit Early)! : wedding los angeles pictures pro pics recap Leaving04 At first I felt a little weird about leaving before everyone else, so I cornered our DOC and I told her my concern.

“It’s your wedding, do what you want!” was her fantastic reply. Someone must have called us a cab, because the next thing I knew we were sitting amongst a ton of junk in the back of a van-cab. The cab was packed! We had our overnight bag, a bottle of champagne and a HUGE cardboard box filled with the food and dessert that we didn’t eat (which we totally scarfed down as soon as we got to the hotel).

I couldn’t believe it was over. And I can’t believe my recaps are almost over! Just a few more to go…

Did you leave your wedding early, or were you the last to go?

Good for you for doing what you want! And for your DOC for being so awesome about it. I imagine I’ll linger, but you never know.

we left at the end. I actually didn’t like how we left. We closed out the dance floor with a couple songs with everyone who was still there. Then everything was done. People started cleaning up and asking me a million questions. We had to write a check out to the caterer for the bar tab. People came up to me to ask where the shuttle van was for them. It was a very uneventful ending. I had to see everyone throw away our floral centerpieces and it made me sad. People were throwing away all the lovely paper products I made too.
I would not recommend leaving that way. But we wanted to have the last two songs be entire group songs that we were present for. If I could do it over I would have had the music keep playing after the large group songs so that we could have left before the cleanup begun. I did like how we left though - no taxis or shuttles. We just walked outside alone to our hotel room. Everybody was like “where did they go? Didn’t they need a ride?” Nope, my husband and I are walkers, and that late night walk was another one of my favorite parts of the wedding. Random people on the sidewalks congratulated us and one girl even curtsied to us! It was fun.

I’ve looooved your wedding recaps! I’m almost positive that I’m going to be the same way. I think it’s totally normal - you do so much in the days leading up to your wedding, and on your wedding day. The exhaustion is bound to set in!

We were pretty much the first ones to leave our wedding (a few ppl left early b/c of kids at home or illness) but left before the majority of everyone else. It was awesome because I didn’t have to worry about anything left over at the venue ;-)

I want to be the last to go, but we’ll see if that is the case. I think FI’s grandparents will be the first to leave…but they are 90+ after all. :)

I imagine we will leave fairly early. I’m NOT a night person, (or a morning person, I love sleeping) If I’m not in bed by midnight then I get very very cranky.

Sad that the Sprinkle recaps are almost over! I think we’ll be the last ones to leave, since I can usually not be torn away from the dance floor, haha…

We’re sure we won’t be the first to go, but we plan to leave just after midnight at our NYE wedding.

We will probably make an early exit as well since our normal work day starts at 2:30am, but we’ll see. Maybe we’ll get so caught up in the festivities we’ll be the last ones out the door!

I know what you mean about being tired at the end of it all! By the time the last few people were left in our hotel room at the after party I was SO ready to go to sleep!
