Mrs. Dolphin's Picture
Mrs. Dolphin, Gainesville, FL Age and Occupation: 24, Graduate Architecture Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Interactive Interface Developer Engagement Date: February 14, 2008 Wedding Date: May 2010 Venue: Plantation Bay Country Club About Me: I’m currently a Graduate Student at the University of Florida studying Architecture. I enjoy playing Scrabble with my Fiance, rooting for the Florida Gators, making any drink that involves a blender, cleaning (yes... I’m crazy), design... GOOD design that is, the new Pepsi with natural sugar, taking pictures, discovering new places in the U.S., and obsessing over doing (and designing) everything myself for our upcoming wedding!
About Mrs. Dolphin

Before coming into this world of “everything wedding”, I had never heard of bouquet preservation. After hearing from a bride who’d had hers done, it only seemed like the perfect answer. Many brides obsess over their bouquet for their wedding (umm… I’m guilty!) and even have a few nightmares over flowers (uhh… that would be me too!), so it only seems fitting to have the awesome bouquet you toted around on this very special day preserved. Now I’m not talking about having it in a little glass dome on your coffee table. There are so many new ways of preserving your bouquet for years to come.

One company that preserves wedding bouquets is Keepsake Florals. A friend of mine used this company to preserve her bouquet and it turned out beautifully! You can choose every little detail in preserving your luscious flowers, it is completely custom. They can do just about anything you want. Check out some of their work below:

This one is my personal favorite! How cute would this be hanging in a guest room or baby room? Okay… maybe I’m getting a little ahead of myself with the baby room. :)

If your wedding day has come and gone, they can then do a reproduction of your bouquet. Simply send them a picture and they will recreate your bouquet for preservation as close to the original as possible.

My friend had this to say about Keepsake Florals:

It takes quite a few weeks to get but is worth it. I would definitely give them 5 out of 5 stars for service. They made an appointment on the phone to personally pick everything out and give suggestions to me.

Her bouquet was composed of Roses, Ranunculus, Stephanotis with rhinestone centers and Ostrich feathers. Check out her before and after photos

The keepsake came out to be exactly what she wanted. It is absolutely beautiful and incredibly detailed in person. The picture does not do it justice. There are many places on the internet that do bouquet preservation. If you have worked with another company and had a great experience, be sure to leave a comment and let everyone know!

Just another unique idea that could only be found in the wonderful world of everything wedding. Who knows… you may see my bouquet beautified and preserved in the future. :)

Are you planning on preserving your bouquet after your wedding?

This could really be an great option!
I won’t be needing it, but if you will decide to do this. I look forward to seeing the results!

For a while I thought about preserving my bouquet but then I wondered if I’d even be able to bring it home with me (wedding outside the continental US). In the end, my mom suggested I give her the bouquet for her to go place on my grandma’s grave. I loved the idea (it’s been over 10 years but I still miss my grandma), so that’s where my bouquet went =)

I’d never even thought of this before….might be a great idea if the price isn’t prohibitive! Thanks for all the great info!

I’m still torn whether I want to spend the money on this. I took a friend’s bouquet to a local place (Florage) to have hers done and it’s got photos from the wedding and the invitation. It looks really nice though . . .

This is brilliant. I wonder if I can convince my mother to pay for this and give it to me for my first anniversary… :-)

@azula: That’s really sweet, what a great idea!

@HisSouthernGirl: The heart shaped one is my favorite too!

As of yet, we have no plans to do this, the price was just too much for us to bear. But, we will see. Maybe in the future we might send a photo in. :-)

I love this idea and am definitely going to check that site out! I have a display shadowbox that I pinned a couple of the rose buds from the roses that FI bought when he proposed so I’ll for sure want to preserve my wedding bouquet too! Thanks for the post!

I had my bouquet preserved and am SO glad I did. My bouquet barely made it through my ceremony before turning brown (star steph. didn’t make it past pictures). The woman who preserved my bouquet had me bring a centerpiece and she replaced the star steph. with orchids and replaced the center crystals as well. As I told her, my bouquet looked better preserved! It’s a great idea and a daily reminder of the happiest day ever!

I liked the idea until my friend told me how much it usually costs. I was shocked and subsequently dropped the notion. :p

I was going to carefully dry mine and then use it as decor somewhere special. The roses and callas should hold up well if handled with care!

Any idea about how much these cost? I’m torn on if I want to do it, but mostly because I have no idea how expensive it is! I’ll go check out their website now! Thanks dolphin!

@Miss Scissors: I know! It is really expensive, you have to really want to do something like this. My friend that had hers done told me she sacrificed something else in the wedding for it, which is really what you have to do if you really want something like this. Interesting idea though.

We used all artificial flowers for our bouquets, so my wedding flowers look just as wonderful today as they did 7 months ago. Only labor is dusting them a few times a year :)

I too thought about doing this until the dollar signs kicked me in the knees! :-(

Actually, preserving my bouquet is one of the reasons we’re NOT going with real flowers. Kind of a cheaper version of what you’ve blogged :)

If I had the money I would preserve mine. . .
I saw a company called Flowers Into Paintings (http://www.flowersintopaintings.com/) and they do a beautiful job on preserving the bouquets as unique pieces of art. . .
The only problem is the price :(
