About Mrs. Beagle

Three days before the wedding I realized I still did not have a perfume to wear on our wedding day. I think it was one of those items on my checklist that I kept putting off because I thought it wouldn’t take long (yeah, right). So, three days before the wedding, I trekked over to my nearest Ulta in hopes of finding the perfect scent. Something that would knock Mr. Beagle’s socks off, in a good way. :)

I usually wear this perfume (which is unfortunately no longer in production) on a daily basis:

“Metro”, Max Azria

I was looking for something similar (light, airy), but different (memorable). Also, the packaging had to be cute just in case there were any pictures taken of the perfume bottle (um, yes, I hate to admit this was my thought process in the days before the wedding).

Looking back, I really wish I would have taken someone with me, as it may have helped speed up the process. I would not recommend putting this off to the last minute—it was a very stressful experience and I felt like I was wasting time because there were other, more pressing, matters on my “to-do” list. Had I started my search earlier, I could have also ordered the perfume online, which I am now finding to be significantly cheaper…

Anyways, after spending nearly two hours in Ulta, thoroughly regretting my decision to not go to Nordstrom, and getting some strange looks from the sales staff, I finally found my wedding scent:

“Euphoria Spring Temptation”, Calvin Klein

I love the scent—it’s a little stronger than my everyday perfume, but it smells wonderful and the bottle is so beautiful. Plus, I still wear it after the wedding, which proves my search was not a complete waste of time and money! For those of you still looking, I stumbled across Sephora’s Fragrance Finder website a while back via Mrs. Jasmine. It’s a great tool for recommending fragrances you might like based on your favorite scents.

Are you wearing a “special” perfume on your wedding day? How did you decide what scent to wear?

You know what? I totally had not even thought about this at all! I have several perfumes at home, that I only use occasionally, so I will probably throw on of those one, but I hadn’t thought about it. Thanks for giving me a reminder!

My Wedding Day perfume was one of the first few things I was sure of!! LOL! I wear Miss Dior Cherie for special occasions (and Dolce + Gabbana Light Blue is my everyday scent! Funny!)

The Miss Dior bottle is really pretty (I was thinking photos too!) and comes in a shower gel & lotion gift set around the holidays so you can layer the scent. I bought a gift set of it awhile back and have it stashed away, all ready to go for the big day.

Pretty bottle - I would have thought about that too :) I’m allergic to most perfumes, but I’d like to have a signature scent.

WOW, I had never thought of that. I only have one perfume at home, and its one of the Ed Hardy perfumes. I love it. But I would love to have a signature sent. Humm…one month until the wedding, and I guess, I will have to start looking :) Thanks Bees!

Chanel: Coco Mademoiselle. It’s my everyday scent but pretty much the one perfume I truly love, so I had to wear it!

Oh, I lurrrrvvveee perfume! I wore Escada Sentiment for years and love most all of the Escada perfumes. I also wear DKNY Be Delicious for work sometimes when I want fruity/fun. My favorite scent is one I bought called Pretty Nina by Nina Ricci. The bottle is a hot pink apple shape, very sweet and well, pretty!

Mmmmm, BCBGirl Metro. I wear it everyday, too! You just may be the person I get in bidding wars with on eBay - I have 4 full bottles stashed away in case I can’t get my hands on it anymore. I’ll have to try your new scent!

I’m wearing my “signature” scent. Tom Ford’s Private Blend Neroli Portofino. It’s a pretty special and magical smell, and Mr. S’ favorite. :)

I have the Fields of Freesia from Anthropologie — and half the reason I bought it was for the bottle! (And the clearance price) But I like the scent too.
