Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.

Little Ms. Clumsy

April 7th, 2010 @ 12:02 pm by Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

So, I am extremely clumsy, and not in the cute Fergie way.

But for some reason I’m not worried about falling at the ceremony or tripping during the first dance, though maybe I should be.

However, I am terrified that I’m going to hurt myself in some unsuspecting way in the next 2 weeks. I’ve managed to make it this far with only a broken finger (which has healed nicely, by the way), but every day that we go hiking, I envision myself tripping over rocks or tree roots.

And actually, it’s not that hard to envision because I seriously trip at least once every walk, though I haven’t fallen too many times.

So what can I do other than sequester myself in my house for the next 2 weeks? Well, I’m trying to pay better attention to my surroundings, avoid any sort of sport, and do my very best not to sprain my ankle. Because really, it would be a travesty if my something blue shoes had to remain in their box.

Anyone else nervous about a black eye, sprained ankle or broken bone?

I wasn’t thinking and playing rough with the cat. Now my left hand is all full of scratches (and I never have scratches) and my shower is saturday, so I am going to have all my family examining my engagement ring, framed by what looks like the works of freddie kruger. I am with you, I plan on stepping into a bubble june 9th and not coming out until july9. Even more reason to have a tame bachelorette party, on my 21st i woke up the next day with a black eye and bruises everywhere. I can see my girlfriends doing it again. Stay healthy and watch where you walk!!!!!

I’m worried about falling flat on my face during the processional. I’m convinced me and/or my dad (he’s in a wheelchair) will get trapped in my train and all hell will break loose. They all say these things never happen, though :D

I just saw a Bee tweet about something like this yesterday… ;) Just be careful! More careful than usual, but don’t stop your life just because you’re getting married in a few weeks!

On the upside, you bruised ankle could then be your “something blue” ;). But seriously, take it easy. I can’t tell you how glad I am that my wedding dress is long….I usually have multiple bruises on my shins from constantly running into the corners of our Coffee Table of Death (it has a lot of sharp edges ;) ).

Hahaha, I’m totally worried something silly like that is going to happen at my bach party since it’s only 3 weeks out from the wedding! Can you imagine if I like, lost a tooth or something?? I’m the biggest klutz ever AND I have horrible luck, so something like that could totally happen to me!

Oh wow, you and I both. When I was a waitress (for over 3 years at the same restaurant), I would run into tables to often that I had PERMANENT bruises on both of my legs in the same spots, right where the corner of the tables would reach. It took months for them to go away after I got a different job. I am seriously the most clumsy person I know and I have no advice to give you…I just wanted to let you know that you’re not alone. If you do end up finding a bubble, let me know, I’m going to need one also! :)

Add me to the list! I’m super clumsy, and have worried a bit about this. And like @Miss Trail Mix, I recently thought about how close my bach party is to my wedding, and thought “what if I lose a tooth?!?” :)

I’d take an injury over the nasty sunburn I had for my wedding anyday! ;) I’m sure if you play it somewhat safe, you’ll be fine for your wedding, though. :)

I had a band aid on my left thumb from slicing pretty seriously two weeks before the wedding (I had to have stitches!)

I seriously doubt anything will happen to you though. :) No matter what, you’re going to have an amazing day!

Um, YES I am worried! I am so insanely clumsy, I’m sure I’ll do something to hurt myself right before the wedding!

I agree with playing it safe! I had a bicycle accident three weeks before my wedding. Cracked two front teeth, minor cuts on the face and because of the impact my whole mouth area was swollen for a week! Luckily the swelling and cuts all healed nicely and the dentist did what he could to give me provisional fillings and crowns. My gums were still closing in on the loose teeth so other than being extra careful with biting, we had an amazing wedding day! And much to my surprise, the photos and my smile came out fine! Phew.. those were some of the most difficult three weeks of my life but the end turned out to be the most giddy day of my life :)

I wish you an amazing day!

Well Miss Fro Yo.. not until NOW! Ha…
I’m playing it safe.. no extra cirriculars - volleyball, softball, kickball, running oustide, or acting crazy… but now I’m worried about running down the stairs to quickly, or tripping over my big shoes.. hahahaa! I’m pretty sure that for the next two weeks, getting my invites out will occupy my mind, but this will probably come back eventually :) hehe.. I kid, but I understand the fear!!!

Another clumsy bride here! I too am very concerned about injuring myself the day of, or just before.

I am the BIGGEST klutz you’ve ever met. My parents joked about keeping me in the house for the week before the wedding. My mom was terrified every time I went for a jog, especially the morning of the wedding.
But the hilarious part is I managed to injure myself IN THE HOUSE. Three days before the wedding I was putting together the OOT bags. They were under a large built in shelf in my parent’s den. I dropped something next to the bags, bent down and SLAMMED my head into the oak shelf. I saw stars. I literally was laying on the floor for a full minute before I could move. It immediately swelled up. But lots of ice kept the swelling down and it didn’t turn purple until Monday thank god!

I am a large animal veterinarian. Which means I could be kicked, stepped on, squished, etc, at any time. Eek. My wedding is still three months away, but I’m pretty nervous about something happening before that won’t heal! (I’m also a klutz… which doesn’t help matters). Good luck with your countdown - I’m sure you’ll do fine!

you will be fine!!!! My cousins FMIL fell flat on her face after lighting the unity candle at the church, and my cousin and her husband during their ceremony broke the kneeler thing when they both knelt on it - can’t be worse then that! These two things happened at the same wedding
