I think every day should include good thin crust pizza, chocolate, an obscure historical monument, lots of laughter, a dash of wedding planning and, of course, amazing Mr. Pencils! I'm loving the adventure of planning a Maryland wedding and Rocky Mountain reception, and most of all, I just love love!

I Have Nothing New to Say…

April 13th, 2010 @ 2:07 pm by Mrs. Pencils

I’m a fail bride blogger. I feel like I have very little original to say to everyone in this amazing community. With three weeks left until the wedding, I feel like I’ve run out of projects and posts. I could show you the dorky photos of our first gift… but other bees have shown us the fun feeling this creates. I could talk about how when the RSVP date arrived, we were still missing about 30 RSVPs… including our own grandmothers’ (though we assumed they’d be there). Or I could explain how the process of dividing up and creating the table assignments/seating chart was a lot easier than we thought it’d be (so much so that I feel like we did something wrong because it only took us an hour).

I’m sorry- I wish I were more creative and inventive. A few days ago, Mr. Pencils and I had dinner with Mr. and Miss Guinea Pig, and we lamented—remember all those DIY posts about cool things we’re making? Well, now we actually have to finish the remaining 100 that we left after we made the 20 we needed to write the post…

Please forgive my lack of excitement and new ideas… on the wedding front, we’re getting so excited about the week and day arriving and the lack of anxiety is awesome. I’m just so excited to become Mrs. Pencils and make it official.

Anyone else in the last leg of planning and at the stage where you’re just finishing up all the details? Or otherwise, do you have an amazing idea for a post that I can share with y’all? :)

Do share how you easily tackled the table assignment as I’m fretting about how to best manage this! I’m thinking I’ll need 2-3 weeks to accomplish this crazy task!

No need to apologize! I love reading your posts whenever you can write them. :) I’m quickly approaching planning fatigue/exhaustion myself.

i think even if an idea has been presented before, no two people really tackle it the same way, so it still has value! but yeah, I know how it feels to have to finish what you start.. so much work, and no more initial excitement, ugh! :P

Blog what’s exciting to you! Don’t focus on what other bees have blogged before, there are very few people who have read every post by every bee ever! You shouldn’t censor the details of your wedding for fear of sounding repetitive. I know I’m interested to hear how you’re spending your time as a fellow 3 week out girl :)

I was just thinking about you today! I’m glad you popped in to say hello, but please just enjoy the weeks leading up to your day! And good luck with your projects! If you need help with anything let me know!

I feel your creative block. When the originality goes out the window, I like to think of the silly things that are happening in my life and everyday activities. Like if you are making cookies this morning, blog about it, then find 10 pictures where awesome cookies are being made. I think tying things back to weddings indirectly can be successful too.

But… I LOVE your posts. They rock! and it takes a lot for a blogger even to blog that you have nothing to blog about haha…

I feel the exact same way. I’ve got nothing new to talk about. And no time for new projects.

Why don’t you just blog about how you’re feeling? I weddingbee is all about photos and DIY projects, but sometimes I would rather read about how a real life bride is actually feeling (if they are comfortable sharing) Another blog about invitations or rsvp’s or dress shopping is okay…but that isn’t the only aspect to wedding planning. You don’t need to take a picture to have a good, authentic blog post! Let your feelings out!

Please share how you manages to assign your guests to seats in an hour! It took us days, or at least that’s what it feels like.

Seeing as I’m getting married this Saturday I know how it feels to be nearing the final stretch. No more time for ideas, just execution!

PS, some of the wedding things you’ve posted that aren’t all crafts have been very helpful for me.

I totally get you! There is so much to do, that every spare moment seems precious. I have so many unfinished projects that it’s making my head spin. Unfortunately, my blogging has suffered as well :(

no worries pencils. i think a lot of people usually have high hopes for projects and planning at the beginning to realize that some things just have to be dropped as the wedding comes closer. it’s normal so please don’t feel bad!

Once most of the planning is done, it seems there’s not going to be much to write about, but I promise, life will throw things your way for inspiration!
