About Mrs. Cloud

A few months before the wedding I had the best bachelorette party I could have ever asked for. So when Mr. Cloud’s Best Man started making plans for his bachelor party I was really excited for him to have a great experience, too! I did lay down some rules though when it came to their planning. No, no, it’s not what you are thinking! I trust Mr. Cloud to use good judgment if he were to end up in any compromising situations (such as those that might include ladies being paid to take their clothes off). I did not, however, trust him or his boys to not bring me home a very drunken groom! I also wanted to be sure my cousins, who grew up more like brothers to me, were also able to attend. So my “rules” were simple: the party was NOT to be held the night before the wedding, but it must be held at a time that would make it possible for ALL the guys in our life to attend if they wanted. Not too bad, right?

The Thursday before the wedding the boys were set for some fun. I never expected to see pictures, but Facebook came through and I present you with a small glimpse into Mr. Cloud’s last night of freedom!

Fifteen guys piled into a rented van (plus one DD!) and they started off pretty tame. Dinner at Hooters, of course! From what I have been told the boys polished off over two hundred wings, a few sandwiches, and quite a few pitchers of beer.

I also had a bachelor party rule to follow which I was assigned by my brother: I wasn’t allowed to text or check in on Mr. Cloud at all! You would think Brother Cloud was going to be on my side with the inside scoop for the night, but noooo! I have no doubt he was encouraging more shots and misbehaving all night long! I did get one call – they gave him his phone to let me know he had already fed our fur baby dinner before he left. But I believe this was after they had dinner and all that beer, so he was making no sense at all!

By the time they made it to happy hour no one was feeling any pain and ready to move on to the dance floor. Mr. Cloud has no shame, and after a few drinks he is always willing to show off his dance moves. He has been a huge Michael Jackson fan since he was a kid, and if you catch him in the right mood sometimes you can even get a moonwalk out of him! Well he was ready on his last night out to show off when Billie Jean came on! At one point I saw video of this little performance, but it has since been “lost” and only these few pictures are left…

Yep, that is my darling hubby and his old roommate having a full blown dance off in the middle of a Richmond club. I didn’t believe it when I first heard the story, but you can see in the pictures the dance floor cleared and people were gathered around watching! Silly silly boys..

By the time he was delivered home to me, my original assumptions were confirmed and my groom was nowhere near sober. I had been assembling place cards all night and after finally finishing and climbing into bed I was woken by a call from my Mr. and his best man, who couldn’t figure out how to unlock the door! I thought he would be headed straight to bed, but instead I got a full play by play of his very exciting and fabulous night (although it was slightly slurred and completely out of order). I’m so glad he not only didn’t get into too much trouble, but had just as much fun as I did!

Is your Mr. planning on having a bachelor party? Are you worried about the events at all or laying down any unusual rules like I did?

I am definitely a bit nervous about my Mr’s Bachelor party, but for the same reason as you…I want him to go out and have fun and I trust his judgement, but I don’t want him to come home a SUPER drunken groom. No phone calls from the hospital ER like on “Bridezillas,” please! :-p

Hahaha that sounds like a perfect bachelor party!! I really hope FI’s groomsmen do something fun for him. I think I’m just worried about it because I don’t have any control. Not because I’m worried about what they’ll do (I have the EXACT same rules as you) but just because I like to know that things are all planned and taken care of! I’d feel terrible if he got the short end of the stick because his friends are unorganized!

Perfect timing, I was just speaking with my brother about this yesterday! I feel so silly because I’m the one making sure his BM/GM actually do this, but I’m hoping that they end up spending the night elsewhere so I don’t have to be involved in the super drunken groom phenomenon :)

Hahaha - sounds like he had a great time. The Mister’s bachelor party is coming up in 2 weeks, and I’m pretty sure I don’t want to know any details, haha.

I just said no guns and no strippers; he’s not into either, so they should be fine :D

I totally agree with your rule to not have the bachelor party the night before the wedding. Other than that, I don’t have any “rules.” I just want him and his friends to have fun.

Haha I’m encouraging my dude to have the all out good time however he can, since he’s not able to drink because of the medication he takes. He also doesn’t do guns because of his illness, and he doesn’t do strippers because he finds them boring, so I think he’s left with dinner and video games!

P.S: I also have the “no party the night before since we all have to rest” rule.

My rule is definitely not the night before the wedding, preferably no strippers, but if they’re there, then I definitely don’t wanna know about it, and no drinking so much that he’ll be worshipping the porcelain toilet for hours upon arrival at home.

I didn’t have any rules other than “I don’t want to hear anything about it!” Hahaha…

My only rule was no vaginas…I didn’t care about strip clubs but was scared of private party strippers - they are so crazy. He went to Miami with like 15 guys 2 months before the wedding. They had a great time and were super wasted pretty much the whole weekend. We have a crazy intense trust in each other, so I wasn’t worried about his actions. The boys tried to freak me out one night saying that DH was about to get a tattoo…they succeeded. I was frantically calling the more responsible guys, saying,”Don’t let him do it. Remind him that Jews aren’t allowed to be tattooed!” DH found my reaction hilarious esp b/c I’m not jewish (and he said that there was nooo way he would get a tattoo).

Those pics are hilarious. I think my only rule might be “no boobies.” FI has been to plenty o’ bachelor parties and has seen enough boobies for his single life.
