Mrs. Scissors's Picture
Mrs. Scissors, LaGrange, GA Age and Occupation: 25, Photography & Graphic Design Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Engineering Grad Student Engagement Date: January 1, 2009 Wedding Date: June 2010 Venue: Ceremony - First United Methodist Church; Reception - My parents' house! About Me: I’m a six-foot-three bride with a fifty-foot personality! I love great art, fabulous design, intense color, tons of music, indie photography, watching movies on repeat, and being really awesome. This super-tall, Southern, loud, quirky, neurotic artist is marrying a German, quiet, silly, super-amazing roboticist in an eclectic, funky, fun, snazzy, technicolored June wedding. Anything is game for this shindig, for it is all about us! We’re bringing giant paper cranes, six-foot-tall portraits, fortune cookies, a photo booth, a club-circuit DJ, handcuffs, and possibly a kidnapping to this small Southern town. Watch out, y’all, and try to keep up!

Best post title ever, no? My brain is so incredibly fried from invitation-overload, and thankfully we’re at the point where there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Take a gander at all that has gone down…

It took a week solid for me to address all of the envelopes, cut out the eleventy-billion hearts, cut out the eleventy-billion liners… well, we’ll look at all the numbers and details later, but yes, this is a sold week’s of work. Thankfully my spring break was last week, or else I would have never been able to get all of this done. Despite all of the whining, indecisiveness, pain-in-the-butt-iveness, I wouldn’t change a thing. I am thrilled with how they have turned out, and cannot wait to finish assembling so that we can drop these suckers in the mail!

Did your invitation assembly end up taking an immense amount of time? Who else sacrificed their spring break or vacation time for the sake of wedding?

Very cute! Love em!
Alas, I am NOT putting the invites together as I spent far too much time on the save the dates.

My extent of involvement will be the addressing on the outside of the envelope and securing postage to said envelope!

They look amazing! I had to bribe the moms with wine to get them to help me the first time. And then I bribed with wine AND food for the second attack.

I love the yellow belly band - it’s just the right finishing touch of color.

I began my invitation assembly with a wicked hangover. I figured “heck, this is going to suck anyway, why not do it on a day I already feel like hell?”
It worked pretty well. Good thing all I had to do was tie ribbon. I’m doing mine in a 8-part process. The invitations themselves are assembled. The information cards are designed, printed and cut out. The RSVP cards are in MS Word, just waiting for the date to get a little closer before getting printed.

I adore the hearts- what kind of printing method are they? aka… how can I steal your idea of printing white on yellow… and then cutting them out in heart shape lol
