Next Stop: Shoes

April 14th, 2010 @ 9:13 am by Mrs. Chick

Now that I have the dress (Mr. Chick, DO NOT CLICK on that link!), it’s time to buy shoes!

My requirements for shoes are:

  • Must be around 3 inches.
  • Must be special
  • Must not slip of feet while dancing (maybe straps required)

That is all! I am open colors of white, off white, nude, gray, blues, and pinks.

In my last shoe post, I liked these by Hey Lady):

I’ve been reading Fashion Bride’s Shoes to Kill and Die for… bad news for someone who’s trying to get some work done in the office. These shoes literally are shoes I would kill (maybe not die) for. Examples:

Valentino. Yes, Valentino. A.k.a. unaffordable.

I was just about to come to the conclusion that the shoes on Fashion Bride are completely unattainable for most people when I discovered this post. Bourne is a terrific line of luxury shoes at semi affordable prices! Unfortunately, they are all made in China… I’m against buying things made in China on principal… but if the shoes are cute enough I might be persuaded.

Here are some I like, but not love:

I also love these shoes by Pura Lopez:

So, the search is still on…

How did you decide on your shoes? Did you opt for color or cream?

Really? Amazon? Awesome! I opted for color because I wanted to tie into my girls’ outfits somehow.

I knew I wanted colored shoes. The requirements were to have a very high stiletto heel (I’m only 5ft and my FI is 6′5) and have a feminine touch.

I opted for color. I also had to opt for ballet flats despite my love of a good heel. FI’s only half an inch taller than me, and this was literally his only wedding demand. Plus, it’ll be easier to avoid tripping! (Hopefully.)

I bought cream colored shoes, but the hive is making me itch for colored shoes so I’m on the hunt for some awesome colored wedding shoes!

I really like those gray shoes. I definitely bought colored shoes. I don’t think I have worn a white shoe since Easter circa 1992? I knew I was going to have to spend a more money than I usually do (from DSW and clearance rack to Zappos couture) to get the color I wanted, so I wanted something I could easily rewear.

Wow I love the last pair, they’re gorgeous! You’d never think choosing shoes would be so difficult, but when it comes to you wedding, you want every detail to feel perfect!

I adore the last pair. That back bow is very dreamy, like it’s melting on the shoe :)

I opted for a color I’d rewear (but do love the classic white on brides). I am a very satisfied owner of the blue Hey At Tiffany’s from Hey Lady.
