Mrs. Hamster's Picture
Mrs. Hamster, New York City Age and Occupation: 28, Finance Gal Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, Finance Guy Engagement Date: March 9, 2009 Wedding Date: May 2010 Venue: The Pierre Hotel About Me: I'm an original Jersey girl living it up in the big NYC! I love baking for others, hosting brunches, and exploring NYC with my mans. Besides Mr. Hamster (of course), I'm attracted to shiny things, bold colors, snacks, matching and coordination, pork and duck fats, miniature versions of things, corny jokes and puns. We are planning a swanky Spring wedding in the heart of NYC, followed by a second reception in Singapore. From one city that never sleeps to another - I can't imagine a more exciting ride!
About Mrs. Hamster

This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Priscilla of Boston bridal market show with the lovely Mrs. D’orsay. What eye candy we were treated to! These dresses left us drooling in the front row.

To start - the Vineyard collection. This collection featured clean lines, texture and sophistication.

This is actually 2 pieces: a strapless fit-to-flare gown with a structured bolero.

If you could pull this look off, go for it! (And send me pictures, please.)

A large bow embellishment. Love this detail (and the pockets!)

This ball gown had a wrap skirt and was embellished with a wrap shawl.

This halter dress would be great for a short-dress bride, or as a reception dress.

The show also featured the Jewel line, emphasizing sequins, soft textures and a youthful look.

Hammy says: Asymmetrical Ruching and fit through the hip = super flattering

Hope you enjoyed the eye candy! All in all, we had a fantabulous time. Gorgeous dresses and free bubbly to boot—what more can two gals ask for?

Which one is your favorite?

I love that short one with the stripes! I’m not sure I would ever pick a short dress, but if I had the need for it, I would absolutely go with that one!

Ooh! I love the 2nd one in the jewel line. I was considering a dress from last season’s PoB that looked like that!

I am in LOVE with the short striped one! And there’s just something about wedding gowns with pockets that I adore. Thanks for the dress porn, Hammy!

I am in love with the strapless chiffon and the one with the flower embellishment! I want to buy another wedding dress! I don’t have to get married again, I just want to wear it around and get my picture taken ;-)

OMG I love these! What a great designer :) I’m totally in love with the starpless a-line chiffon, and the ball gown with wrap skirt and shawl is to DIE for!

The gowns are lovely.
Please, PLEASE, go ELSEWHERE for the alterations. Our personal experience, they do not have the ‘vision’ to see just how to alter. It won’t be ‘ruined’– the stitching will be ‘expert’ — it just won’t fit “right”. After 3 visits a call upon an expert seamstress was needed. The POB alterations were wasted money that so far, has not been returned.

oh my gosh! i was just browsing through some old posts and stumbled upon this one - that last dress with the asymmetrical ruching is the dress that i just bought at the priscilla of boston warehouse sale last weekend!! or at least it’s the same design with slight modifications… i wonder if my dress was a mock-up for this final design… i can’t believe my dress has been on the runway! i’m even more excited about it now!
