About Mrs. Taco

It might seem unproductive to do an inspiration board after you’ve done the bulk of your planning. But I decided to go with a post-inspiration board, instead.

Why?

a) I just recently found Mrs. Lemon’s helpful tutorial on creating such boards in Photoshop. Whoops.

b) The inspiration boards I found online (like, this, this, and this) were lovely, but they were more like siblings of our wedding instead of ours. It makes sense: it seems kinda creepy to use the same items and colors, and then package them the same exact way.

c) If you’re like me, you have trouble picturing it all come together on the day-of, despite having stared the details raw for months (or years).

Nonetheless, here she is:

I took some images from the web, per regular inspiration-board-making. Everything else is directly connected to my actual wedding, so looking at this board makes me really happy.

Top row, from L-R: branch centerpieces I liked, peacock-feather stamp from AsspocketProductions, STD-inspired banner for our photo booth pics, an Alfred Angelo BM dress in wine (same color, different dress), random guy in burgundy tie, and a fab calla lily/rose bouquet that’s close to what mine will look like.

Middle-ish row, from L-R: Me and my birdcage veil and fascinator during the hair trial, our beautiful venue, and my day-of shoes.

Bottom row, from L-R: Creepy close-up of my glamorized eye during the makeup trial, a photo taken by our photographer near the hotel we’ll be staying in on wedding night, a cool Deco cake, and a pretty sketch.

Is anyone else interested in a post-planning, pre-wedding inspiration board?

That’s actually a really smart idea! I didn’t make an inspiration board pre-planning and I am kind of curious how everything I’ve done will look all pulled together. Good thinking!

I like! :-) My details have strayed from my original inspiration board, but I may make a before/after comparison with both the first board and photos of the things that we ACTUALLY are using. :-)

The dress you picked for this board is the one my bridesmaids wore (in celadon)!

This looks awesome! I actually made an inspiration board after most of our decisions were made. Oops!

Guilty! I loved to see how my ideas evolved over the process, and now that I’ve tried Miss Veggie’s tutorial, I’m going inspiration board crazy.

Off to add this great post to the Wiki!

@Fortune Cookie: @Miss Ship: LADIES! They’re Nina shoes and I got them from Zappos:

They run a little small, but I’ve been breaking them in at home.

Thank you, everyone! The board is an excellent way to keep you sane when you think it’s all falling apart, I might add.

I did the same thing, Taco! That board I posted on my BM dress post is the first one I’ve made, and it already encompasses a lot of decisions I’ve made. I thought it was too paralyzing to make an inspiration board before having key elements picked, so it was better to wait until I had things like BM dresses picked out. I think it’s more helpful now, because it guides my decision-making for the rest of the details.
