Why we “need” Save-the-Dates (read: because I want to and they’re pretty):
And so we begin work on the Save the Dates. Initially, I was gung ho about making my own Save the Dates. I love squares and saw something similar in a wedding magazine:
My attempt
Not too shabby, right? Plus I looooove that I can say “Be there or be SQUARE”. HAHAHA. OMG. But then my San Francisco BFF’s husband asked if I wanted his expertise, his expertise being in graphic design and WEDDING INVITATIONS.
Ca-ching! Yes, please! I gave him 100% of my trust since he’s come up with great urban designs in his 4fifteen t-shirt line. Here’s what his genius created:
Tying the Knot. I love this one because it’s so elegant, clean, and classic. It has the formality of a wedding without being conservative, which Mr. Lobster and I are not.
B’lynn Bridge. Then, I opened up this beaut. My heart raced. Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!! It captured every feeling I want for our wedding that I couldn’t verbalize. Chic, modern, kinda cool, but with the right touch of fancy. And I love the simplicity of the black and white. Oh, and Mr. Lobster loved this one so much he said, “You should stick to finance and let 4fifteen do his thing.”
His designs blew away my squarey idea. Be there be square? Be gone.
Which save-the-date design do you like the most? Did you enlist a friend’s help with yours?
