About Mrs. Dolphin

I have been eying these ’design your own’ Nina Electras for well over 6 months. In order to get my dream shoes for our wedding I would need to special order them in a 3.25″ heel (they come stock in the 4″ heel which is wayyy to tall for this lady). The problem? The price. The custom heel height is $199. If you join their mailing list you can get 10% off your first order, but I just couldn’t wrap my head around paying $180 for shoes that I may only wear once (it has taken me a long time to get to this point—when we first got engaged I started looking at shoes that were between $300-600… yes, I was out of control).

One day, while browsing Weddingbee I decided to check out our classifieds section on the site and came across a pair of Design Your Own Nina Electras in ivory in my size. A bride ordered them custom from Nina and later decided to wear a different shoe for her wedding. SCORE! and the price? $80 including shipping. DOUBLE SCORE!

As my Mom says, when it’s meant to be… it’s meant to be.

Yes, I had to immediately take a picture with my iPhone when I opened them. They are adorable and I love them!

Did you get any great second-hand wedding deals?

No, but I did just post the shoes I wore for my wedding on Weddingbee Classified. Also ivory and size 7.5, if anybody is interested. :) I love Weddingbee Classifieds! It’s great for buyers and sellers.

Beautiful! I scored 10 amazing glass jars for my candy buffet locally on Craigslist. A recent bride had used them for the same purpose, and her mom was selling them and was overjoyed that they would be used for another wedding. My wedding’s in a couple weeks, and this is still one of my best scores :-)

I scored lots of milk glass vases to use for my reception centerpieces off of craigslist.
Also, I adore Nina Electra shoes! I bought them for my wedding but was devastated because I had to return them because they’re too narrow for my feet :( They are gorgeous shoes though!!

I bought an adorable faux fur jacket from Mrs. Lab a few months ago. It is beautiful and will work great for my winter wedding :)

I wore those exact same shoes for my wedding! You’re gonna love them! They didn’t hurt (the hidden platform helps) and I danced all night in them!

I’m borrowing 24 mirrored tiles from my coworker who used them at her wedding as part of the centerpieces. Yay for free!

I thought these were ‘the ones’ but I later found out they didn’t go with my dress at all! More details in a later post. You will just have to wait and find out what I came up with!!! :-)

Those are my shoes too!! I think I am going with the regular heel it comes in though, although your pics make that heel height look higher then the pics on the web site. And I am getting the Navy! love them!

I have always loved that shoe :) The bow is just perfect–sadly, 3.25″ is even too high for me so I just couldn’t get them. Congrats on scoring them for a great price but since they didn’t match your dress I’m curious what you came up with!!

Love these! Are they comfy? I’m not typically a heels kind of girl…

So cute but I see from your comment that they are NOT your final shoe! Can’t wait to see what you decided on!!!
