This weekend, Mr. Hot Dog and I visited our venue, the ranch. I was really excited before, just picturing the landscape. But now that I’ve seen it again and heard all of my FFIL’s plans for the place, I can barely contain my glee!!! And of course, I took some pics for you all. I’m going to give you all a little “walk through” of the place so you can get a feel for it.

The view from the road! Picture everything greener

Look at that view… The propane tank will be surrounded by split rail fence before the wedding. Like that cow’s hiney? It’s a real ranch!!

This is behind the garage. See where those men are standing? Just beyond them is where the reception will be. All that ugly brown fence on the right will be taken down and it will be gray gravel all the way down to the pasture buck-and-rail fence. (If that makes sense… LOL)

This is the front of the house. Isn’t it gorgeous?!

This is the view from the front door, walking around the side of the house. There’s the beginnings of the railing that FFIL is putting up all the way around the porch.

Turning the corner to the back yard. All those chairs and table will be gone and the railing will continue along.

The backyard, where the ceremony will be! You can’t see the propane tank, but, like I said, it will be covered. They laid grass seed so the color will even out

This is the back corner, where we’ll have the arch! Those 3 chicken wire rings are small trees that will be about head-high around the end of August. The arch will be right in between them all.

The view walking back to the front of the house. Directly ahead is where the reception space will be!

Where the dirt is will be gray gravel and that ugly brown fence will be taken down prior to the big day. FFIL and Step FMIL offered to get us a tent, so we’ll go ahead and set that up out in the field. I’m thinking (depending on weather) that one whole side of the tent will be open so that we can still have much of the reception outdoors a la my vision.
