Shoes… Continued… Again.

April 20th, 2010 @ 11:31 am by Mrs. Chick

Recently, I have gotten very into shopping websites in the like of Gilt and Rue La La. In Rue La La’s last Final Sale: Act II, I bought some delicious, delicious brown knee high boots by Pour La Victoire. Mmmm yes. I am drooling just thinking about them. They are made in Brazil and are as soft as butter. So, when I found these babies also by Pour La Victoire, I was ecstatic and ordered four pairs!

I am sad to say that I was horribly disappointed. Firstly, there were big MADE IN CHINA labels on all of the shoes. Secondly they were really poorly made. Third of all, the colors of the shoes were very fainted/old/washed out, and not as they appeared on the website. The edges of the shoes were very rough and I can guarantee that if I wore any of them, my shoes would be blood-filled by the end of the night.

So off they go back to Zappos. Sigh. And the shoe search continues.

How many rounds of shoe ordering did you have to go through before you found the perfect pair?

I’ve bought three pairs.
First I bought a pair of turquoise silk flats. They were cute. Had an open toe and toe blush, but not really what I was looking for.
Then I bought a pair of Caparros “Victor” from another WBC bride….OMG I love love love these shoes. Unfortunately, I had a knee injury three weeks ago and can’t wear heels. So, I went with a pair of white wedges instead. They are really cute!

BTW. I’m selling the Caparros. I tried wearing them around the house and to get the mail, so there is some scuffing on the soles. But, I’m open to offers. Size 7.5
They’re white satin.

Oh no! Sounds exactly like my recent Zappos purchase. Adorable red shoes but they were so hard along the edges and the inside of the heel was so stiff there was no way it would ever be comfortable.

I just ordered a pair of shoes in two seperate sizes. However, I just learned by re-reading what I ordered, that I happened to order one in ivory and one in white. My luck, the white ones will fit, but my dress is ivory :(

I stopped counting - I’m surprised that Zappos doesn’t have me marked as a “problem customer” since I returned so many shoes!

I bought a beautiful red pair. But am starting to have doubts. I’m going tomorrow to try them on with my dress and see how I like them then… We’ll see.

Thanks for this review! I’ve been drooling over the first pair you pictured, the Carla, and contemplating purchasing them. Sounds like I should spend my hard earned money on a different pair!

I bought my current wedding shoes on the first try, but the hive is making me crave for bright colored shoes so I’m searching for a pair of fabulous colored shoes! Good luck on your shoe hunt!

My shoes were love at first sight, so I got it right on the first try! But, I also didn’t look too hard, I think if I had I would have fallen in love with all the same shoes as you!

Awwww….! They are so pretty, though :( I am still looking for shoes because I am picky. Has to be comfy and pretty and tall-ish. And not $700.

Um…I think I must have ordered and returned at least 20 pairs. But when I finally found mine they were from Zappos! Good luck!

I love RueLaLa. But what a shame the shoes didn’t work out. The shoes I want were pretty much my first wedding-decision I ever made. Never really changed my mind on them, either. Though, of course, I’m sure that could change in time!

Those are all very pretty, but definitely not worth bloody feet.

Yeah, finding wedding shoes has been the bane of my existance. Like @Shaema, I’ve shopped countless hours and almost everyday, the post man leaves something at my door. The upside is I’m always super excited when I get home!
