Let the Honeymoon Shopping Begin!

April 23rd, 2010 @ 12:16 pm by Mrs. Dolphin

I picked up my first dress for our honeymoon in Maui, HI! We picked up this lovely little dress at Rochelle’s Clothing in St. Augustine (located right before the Bridge of Lions on the beach side). It’s a super cute shop with lots of unique dresses (they also carry name brands like Citizen for Humanity and Hard Tail).

Tropical dress from Rochelle’s Clothing, $88.

Wearing the dress to Momma’s Fish House in Maui with your new husband, Priceless.

When did/will you all start shopping for your honeymoon?

We didn’t make it to Mama’s in Maui but make sure you go to the Lahaina Grill. Most delish meal we had on the island for sure. Merrimen’s was also heavenly - if you get there early you can watch the sunset from their awesome wine patio. Aloha Mixed Plate was the best for local hawaiian food!

ENJOY! I can’t wait to shop for our Aruba honeymoon!

I second Aloha Mixed Plate….we eat there a couple times every time we go to Maui…try to stop at Da Kitchen in Kihei for Lau Lau and in my opinion the best potato-mac, and up above them is Cafe O’Lei which looks like a s-hole on the outside but has some reallllllly good food. Stay away from Buzz’s…they pack you in like cattle and the food is crap and over priced. Mama’s is good, pricey but the grounds are gorgeous so it’s very enjoyable.

I love food :)

We went to Maui and loved every minute of it. We didn’t go till September so I picked some things up in Rehoboth Beach DE when we were there throughout the summer.

I hope you don’t mind the comment-jack, but here’s some quick advice:

Bring a hat even if you don’t usually wear one in FL. Maui sun is really hot!

Please, please, please go to ululani’s shave ice in Lahaina. Friendliest bunch of people and their shave ice is TO DIE FOR. We found it near the end of our trip and went twice in 2 days. I still think about it. http://ululanisshaveice.com/ They also just opened another shop in Kahului by the airport.

We went to Bev Gannon’s Hali’imaile General Store and really enjoyed our meals. We always fight over who orders best and we couldn’t decide who won that time. I second Aloha Mix Plate. Also look for the Maui Fish Market - ah-MAZE-ing fish sandwiches for abt $12-$15 each. (well worth every penny) We had lunch there at least twice. One day we were talking to a fellow customer - he was a fisherman who sells to them and that’s where he buys his fish. If that’s not an endorsement, I don’t know what is!

Get the “blue book” and check out all of the off the beaten path places on the Road to Hana and along the highway in northwest maui. (Olivine pools are a must-see).

Sorry for the comment jack…and that dress is awesome btw!

Love that dress! It’s too bad they don’t sell their stuff online because I’d snatch one of those dresses up. How is the length of it, would it work on a shorter person?

Our Caribbean honeymoon was in December so I made sure to shop for me and my guy at the end of the summer to stock up on swimwear, shorts, and tees for the trip.

Oh wow! thanks for the tip! I live here in St. Aug, and have driven past Rochelles and never stopped in. Will definitely make a trip over the Bridge just to go there now that I know all the cuteness they carry.

You look fab in that dress too!
