Preparing the Wedding Hair

OK, maybe I’m not quite here yet! (This was taken when I was getting my hair done for one of my BM’s weddings in May 2009). My hair trials won’t start until sometime in June. In the meantime I am collecting lots of ideas, of course! Below are just a few of many…

But back to the point: a few months ago, my hair was quite light brown/blonde and not all that long. Very soon after our engagement, I decided to begin the process of preparing my “Wedding Hair”. As one of my bridesmaids advised, “You’ll probably want your hair in your engagement photos to look pretty similar in color to what you’re going to have on your wedding day.” Amen for good friends! So, I walked into the salon a blonde and walked out a rich-chestnut-with-copper-highlights brunette!

Did you change your hair color in preparation for your engagement photos and wedding?

Love the darker color on you! My engagement photos were where I noticed my hair was two different colors, ha! Definitely changing that for the wedding day :D

I really love the darker hair on you! I think it bring so much warmth to your skin :) Since I don’t change my hair color I don’t have to worry too much. Thanks for posting the inspiration photos, the first one I don’t have in my folder (unlike the second one already!) so it’s going in there too!

I’ve never colored my hair so that wasn’t a problem for me. Just need to keep it growing without hacking it off despite the HOT, HOT Texas summer weather rapidly approaching.

I love the brunette color on you! My hair is always plain old brown, and I plan on keeping it that way. :)

I agree, I love your dark hair! I’m in the process of de-blonding my hair after many years of box dye and it is just not working out.. : (

And, I think the darker hair will better suit your fall wedding colours (sorry, my Canadian spelling).

Envious of people who can highlight and not look weird! You look great. And the answer for me is obviously no :)

I changed my hair color! I added blonde highlights to it and love it. I had done it a few years ago for quite some time and eventually it got too blonde for me so I died it brown. It was so fun to get highlights again!

Thanks! I’m loving my darker locks. It’s much closer to my natural color too.

Yep! I had NEVER colored my hair. But it is a dirty blonde, and I want it to be a bit more decisive on my wedding day, so I’ve been experimenting with blonde highlights… can’t decide if I like them though.

I want to color my hair but never had and I’m afraid it will look silly for the wedding!

I dyed my hair a rich chocolate brown (it was actually supposed to be more of a chesnut –close to black, but colorists can never seem to get it right). It looked great, but I mainly did it to cover my grays. I like the blond, but I think the brown hair suits you really nicely.
