Take a Placecard

April 26th, 2010 @ 10:44 am by Mrs. Ribbons

We decided to assign seats at the wedding, not so much influenced by etiquette, but by the pretty factor.

So, I created a template in InDesign and copied all of the names of invitees. While it’d save some paper and energy to wait for the full list of replies, I’ve decided getting this little project out of the way was more important. Sorry Earth Day.

I printed the templates onto some lightweight cardstock and revisited my evil paper cutter.

Half-way through cutting everything, I realized how badly I needed a new blade, so the following card looks jagged and sad and I promise I won’t use it for the wedding.

Are you taking the placecard plunge?

Nope. We are reserving tables/seats for bridal party and immediate family. Everyone else can sit where they want lol. And I feel you on the paper cutter! After cutting pictures for the save the dates, labels for them and the then actual save-the-date itself, my paper cutter hates me lol.

I’m planning on doing place cards - it’s on my ever-growing to-do list. Yours are really cute!

We’re not going to be the place cards but we’ll still have assigned seating. We are going to place a big board in the entrance to the table area that has everyone’s name and table number. Most of my family hasn’t met his family because of where everyone lives. I think that mixing tables with the family members will be a great opportunity for everyone to meet!

We did placecards, not only for the etiquette, but for another way to incorporate our styling from the invitations, which I loved.

We’re doing escort cards, but not place cards. AND I’m handwriting mine - eek! Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen…

Very cute! We’re working on our escort cards in advance too. I’d rather throw away some names for people who RSVP ‘no’ than wait until the last minute!

Looks awesome. I wanted to do cards, but got shot down because we aren’t doing seating crap.

Sad trombone.

Definitely only doing escort cards. I am not talented enough to pick seats.

i only plan on assigning tables, not seats so we’ll just be doing a table assignment sign. just another way to cut down on the paper and projects because i definitely have enough projects to keep me busy!

We went with placecards but no escort cards, since it was only 40 guests :)

we’re making escort cards and assigning tables at our wedding; I can’t deal with the stress/chaos that would ensue if we didn’t! That, and I am so excited about how we’re going to display them…

I like how yours are turning out so far!

We’re doing escort cards. I think it would cause way too much drama!

I love how yours turned out!
