About Mrs. Seashell

I am a firm believer that paper sets the tone for an event. An invitation hits at style, suggests a vibe, and can imply formality or casualness. They can be playful, ornate, classic, sophisticated, embossed, letterpress… oh, the options are endless! I think many brides consider invitations a lighter decision as compared to the dress, venue, flowers, guest list, etc. Not me. I love paper THAT much.

Now, we have managed to make most of the larger decisions. And I’m thankful that we don’t have to decide on our invitations just yet. We need more time - this is huge for me, hive!

Oh, Invitations. Invitations Are My Favorite. : wedding providence stationery 38468031 3846803

(Personal Photo)

I have spent hours and hours pouring over binders like these in addition to sites like: Wedding Paper Divas, Etsy, Hello Lucky, Olio Style, Blush Paperie, Minted, Milkmaid Press, EllieLLC, Cardstore, Modern Girl Invitations, Papeterie. We’re not there yet, but I know our perfect invites are out there somewhere!

Are you a paper lover? Was your invitation selection an easy process?

My daughter went with Carlson Craft pockets in a chocolate brown/olive colored theme. I work for a photo studio that has an account with CC and was able to purchase her invitations at cost, thank goodness!

I found the perfect invitation suite and am in the process of having it be designed right now!

Not going the traditional route, having a really fun invitation created by an etsy designer, and think the guests will adore it!

I agree, I’ve never heard of some either. I am OBSESSED with invitations…and very sad letterpress won’t fit into our budget.

I luuuuuuuurve me some paper goods. Unfortunately I possess no skills in paper-gooding so I end up just lusting after other people’s escort cards, invites, and programs…and begging Mr. Snow to embrace my papergood love (but it is mostly just another day at the office for him….lame).

I love paper and stationery stuff too!! The invitations were a big deal for me and I found a great vendor on etsy.com who made my dream of letterpress a reality. I can’t wait to see my invites :) I was able to convince my fiance after making him feel all different types of paper haha I’m looking forward to making our programs (I made our save-the-dates too!).

I looked at all those places too and ended up going with Blush Design Studio on Etsy–amazing letterpress pricing b/c she is just starting up and I LOVE our invites.

I never realized quite how much I love paper until we got engaged. We looked a ton of places and I spent hours and hours pouring over things online. In the end, we fell in love with a suite from Smock Paper. They print on amazingly thick, soft bamboo. We ordered our save-the-dates and rehearsal dinner invitations from minted. They came out great. good luck with the search!!

I love paper! And, good design. I designed mine, keeping in mind I’d have it printed on 100% recyclable paper. Although I would give my left arm for Crane Lettra so I can letterpress them.

I bought some really pretty ones at target that I was going to print myself and had it all designed in my head. Then I found some of the most perfect ones at vistaprints so cheap and I loved the quality so now I have eight boxes of pocket invitations that I will never use. But I love our final choice.

I love paper too! My invite search was so unsuccessful that I asked my uncle to design our invites from scratch. I couldn’t be happier with that decision though because he is awesome.

We got ours at MyGatsby.com. They have a huge amount of color/layout/size options - you literally design them however you want, including the wording and font size! It’s a lot of choices, which can be overwhelming, but in the end you do get exactly what you want. Good luck!

I designed our invitations as well. I love paper and wanted handmade eco-friendly options so I ordered tons of samples from various stores. Our living room was covered with paper for a couple of weeks until I was sure what color, texture, etc. I wanted. It’s fun. I can’t wait to see what you choose.
