Special Delivery

April 27th, 2010 @ 12:52 pm by Mrs. Starfish

When Mr. Starfish and I were first talking about marriage, I was pretty sad at the thought of having no children in our wedding. There just weren’t any kids we were super close to at the time and we didn’t want to choose random kids to be in our wedding.

The week after Sister Starfish got engaged, Brother Starfish called the family to let us know that Sister Starfish would have a little ring bearer or flower girl in her wedding (and yes, that is how he announced his baby to our family).

It was an amazing surprise! At that point we weren’t engaged, but I knew it was coming and I knew it meant we’d have a special little person in our wedding, too. It just so happened that a few weeks after Mr. Starfish proposed, our little flower girl was born on Halloween, exactly five years from the day Mr. Starfish first asked me out. October is a good month for the Starfishies!

Brother Starfish asked me to be Little Starfish’s Godmother. Little Starfish is one of the loves of my life. I’m so excited to have not just a flower girl in our wedding party, but to have the specialist little girl in our lives walk down the aisle in front of me. Or knowing her…she may be running down the aisle!

And while she is running down the aisle, she will be in style! I found the cutest dress at the Stationery Studio. I originally wanted it in navy, but it was discontinued the week I placed my order, after having been available for a year and a half. But that’s probably a good thing. I’m excited that Little Starfish will be in white, and her parents will be in navy. I hope our photographer gets an awesome family photo!

What a sweet dress!! We aren’t having any children in our wedding. I never envisioned my wedding having a flower girl or ring bearer (and apparently my fiance never did either!) plus we both have too many neices and nephews to choose from and we aren’t going to play favorites among families and kids, so we just aren’t having any.

My FI’s nephew who will be 2.5 by our wedding is our ring bearer and FI’s cousin’s daughter who will be 1.5 will be our flower girl. That flower girl dress is absolutely adorable though!!!

That dress is so darling! We would just love to have cute kids in our wedding, but we seriously don’t know any that we’re close to. No one has surprised us with one since we’ve been engaged either. (Luckyyyy.)

We have more kids in our bridal party than adults! We have 7 nieces and nephews between us and FI has 2 goddaughters. We already had 7- what’s 2 more? :)

I’m just crossing my fingers that everyone is well behaved!

That’s adorable! We will have a flower girl, a ring bearer, and the ring bearer’s twin sister! I cannot wait!

Love love LOVE that dress.
We’ve got 2 flower girls, ages 6 & 8, and we’re still on the hunt for the right dress(es). I think I’ll run that one by them… for little girls they certainly have BIG opinions! :)

I have a ring bearer and a flower boy, ages 4 and 6 respectively. The flower boy will actually be carrying a bubble gun instead of flowers. My cousin has the cutest little boys, but they’re the only kids under 12 that can walk in our family.

that dress is seriously cute. my niece is 6 and she’s the flower girl/show-stealer (she fully intends on stopping at the end of the aisle, doing a grand bow, and waving) and my cousin 7 and she’s the ring bearer. yes, we’re having a female ring bearer. whatever.

that dress is adorable. i don’t plan on having any kids in the wedding. with 3 nieces, i’d be hard press to choose just one and with only 2 bridesmaids, i don’t feel the need to have 3 flowergirls!

Aw, I love that bib and that dress. We’re having two flower girls -my nieces- and the ring bearer will be one of our nephews (the one who is old enough to walk on his own). I figure they can walk down the aisle with their mommas if they want, or if they have a meltdown pre-ceremony, that’s fine too. But hopefully it will go fine!
