After my post about the water bottle labels went up, a few people asked for a template, and I’m happy to share!

Click here for the fully customizable Photoshop template.
Once I had my template personalized for our bottles, I saved the .psd file as a .jpg. I then loaded the MS Word template for Avery 6579 (I had to download it from here), inserted my .jpg 4 times and arranged on the Avery template. Once printed, I had to cut them out individually but with only 24 of them, it didn’t take too long. That’s it!
Oh, and while I’m here, I wanted to show you what my mom has been up to….

**Mr. Hot Dog, do NOT open this post, OR ELSE** kthanks.
After my first dress post, many of you expressed that you wanted to see me IN the dress. Well, it turns out I never even took any!! SAD! So what did I do? I whipped her out of the closet and figured out how to use the self-timer on my camera!

I like the authors’ attitudes towards thank yous. In the chapter introduction they explain that “great thank you notes tell people what they did—as well as how and why they did it—matters to us.” It’s a great way to view them as many people think of the thank yous as a daunting task. To be honest, I love writing notes, but I think after such a huge occasion that has taken quite some time to plan, writing notes is probably the last thing I’ll want to do.

“Make an elegant invitation statement without the fuss. Stylish invitation sets with matching envelopes, reception and response cards included.”
Reading Weddingbee always makes me really really friggin’ guilty. Mostly because I know I’m still around and reading it and not saying anything. I’m going to attribute this to my life being so boring that only people who have absolutely nothing better to do would read about my life. I think between the choice of cleaning the litter box and reading about my day to day life, most peoples’ cats would be very happy. You can use this as a threat if you want your SO to scoop poop. “Don’t MAKE me read her post aloud!”

Ooo! Treasure!!
I never shared my meeting Mr. GB story because it’s boring. We went to college, I set him up with his last girlfriend (we’re all still friends), I moved to Japan, I came back, we got together. I didn’t steal him, I didn’t charm him, we just started hanging out when I moved back and it happened. In fact, I had never even considered the possibility of dating him - he was that ginger kid that would argue with me about Soul Calibur (grr!).
He said I was ’out of his league’ until he saw the kinds of people I dated and then figured I had no standards and just went for it. Did I also mention that he thought I was BLAND? Yes, he used the word bland. All you guys out there who want to sweep a girl off her feet need to take a lesson from Mr. GB. He is obviously the pinnacle of romance. And I never shared my proposal story because… well, he never proposed. *gasp*

After our first dance (P.S. there’s a video here, if you missed it) we sat down and went straight into the speeches. However, I want to show you the details first.
You may or may not remember that our wedding had a birdie theme. Mr Frenchie was really nervous, once the themed started taking shape, that our wedding would have too many birds. (Is there such a thing?) I really tried not to go crazy, while Mama Frenchie kept finding more and more birdie things to add. I think we accomplished a nice balance of birdies.
Mama Frenchie found these birds at the last minute to jazz up our cocktail tables…

We had completely forgot that our cocktail area would have a few ‘belly bars’ scattered around.

The reality of wedding planning finally set in. Venue daydreaming was over; it was time to get to business. After countless weeks of phone calls and emails, perusing rate sheets and crunching numbers, we had 2 final contenders. Both of these venues have been featured on Weddingbee by two beautiful brides, Mrs. Swan and Mrs. Latte! Let the fighting begin!

Ok, so it wasn’t that dramatic
First, Battery Gardens.
Battery Gardens is a restaurant venue on the southernmost tip of Manhattan. It is right on the water and looks out on some of NYC’s most famous landmarks – Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, New Jersey (LOL, come on). I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

It might seem unproductive to do an inspiration board after you’ve done the bulk of your planning. But I decided to go with a post-inspiration board, instead.
Why?
a) I just recently found Mrs. Lemon’s helpful tutorial on creating such boards in Photoshop. Whoops.
b) The inspiration boards I found online (like, this, this, and this) were lovely, but they were more like siblings of our wedding instead of ours. It makes sense: it seems kinda creepy to use the same items and colors, and then package them the same exact way.
c) If you’re like me, you have trouble picturing it all come together on the day-of, despite having stared the details raw for months (or years).
Nonetheless, here she is:

CCSR and her future husband shot their engagement photos by the Washington Monument at sunrise.

Keep on loading your inspirational wedding pics to the gallery to see them featured here on the blog! Remember, your images must be under 1MB in size, or they won’t load.
I’m incredibly happy with how all of our engagement photos turned out. I love Lindsey’s style and am incredibly thankful for Unique Designs and their awesome giveaways.
This is easily one of my favorite pictures from the shoot.
This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Priscilla of Boston bridal market show with the lovely Mrs. D’orsay. What eye candy we were treated to! These dresses left us drooling in the front row.
To start - the Vineyard collection. This collection featured clean lines, texture and sophistication.
This is actually 2 pieces: a strapless fit-to-flare gown with a structured bolero.
If you could pull this look off, go for it! (And send me pictures, please.)
For better or worse, I’m putting a lot of my heart and soul into this wedding, and now that our engagement is starting to wind down (or wind up, as the case may be), I’m thinking more about what I’ll take away from this engagement process. Here are some that immediately come to mind:
I’ve re-discovered sewing and even purchased my first sewing machine. The process of having my dress made required me to think a lot about fabric, fashion, and how things are constructed, and I actually like that stuff! Go figure. I finally know what my mother was doing when she’d see a dress in the department store, look closely at the seams, and head to Hancock.

While I spend most of my waking hours working in front of a computer, I pride myself as an activist working on giving back and making the world better then it already is. Ever since starting grad school, I haven’t exactly had the time to volunteer, protest, or give of my time in the same ways that I tried to in high school and college.
So what’s a gal to do when she has a desire to give to others? I took to knitting and crocheting goods for donations! In the past 2 years, I’ve knitted/crocheted 3 scarves per year for donation.

Basically, each night I knitted while decompressing in front of the TV. After getting engaged, I found my knitting in front of the TV time changed to wedding crafting in front of the TV time. But I’d really like to continue my tradition of giving.

The right music makes everything better, amIright? It stirs the senses, attaches itself to and evokes memories, provokes our emotions, and laces itself into the soundtracks of our lives in inextricable and powerful ways. Our taste in music says a lot about who we are, where we’ve been, and reveals layers of our personalities that aren’t always immediately discernible. Or at least, I think so. I’m that girl who can’t wait for the ceremony to start because I’m curious to hear what song the bride picked to enter with. I’m so fascinated by what music people select for different portions of their weddings, and even more so by the pressure to conform to the ‘wedxpectations’ (booyah, just made that up!) that so many couples experience (including us!).
Pachabel’s Canon in D. The Wedding March. At Last. I’ll Be. Ave Maria. Butterfly Kisses. Rainbow Connection. Unforgettable. (You get the point.) How many times have you heard these at weddings? How many cocktail hours and dinners filled with Sinatra and the rest of the Rat Pack, Michael Buble, and Earth, Wind and Fire have you attended?
Now, I’m not trying to beef on you if you have some attachment to one of these songs or artists… I’ve got nothin’ but love.
