Mrs. Dolphin, Gainesville, FLAge and Occupation: 24, Graduate Architecture StudentFiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Interactive Interface DeveloperEngagement Date: February 14, 2008Wedding Date: May 2010Venue: Plantation Bay Country ClubAbout Me: I’m currently a Graduate Student at the University of Florida studying Architecture. I enjoy playing Scrabble with my Fiance, rooting for the Florida Gators, making any drink that involves a blender, cleaning (yes... I’m crazy), design... GOOD design that is, the new Pepsi with natural sugar, taking pictures, discovering new places in the U.S., and obsessing over doing (and designing) everything myself for our upcoming wedding!
Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and Something Blue
… on her wedding day for good luck. I actually love this tradition, and have finally found my ’something blue’.
I originally thought a cute orange and blue garter that I picked up a few months ago would be my ’something blue’. But, when I really thought about it, I wouldn’t be wearing my garter for the whole wedding (probably slipping it on a few minutes before the garter toss), and felt I needed a ’something blue’ that would be with me throughout the day. Little did I know that my earrings would become my ’something blue’!
Check out these beautiful Aquamarine drop earrings Mr. Dolphin bought me! You know they are a winner when Dolphin Kitty gives her ’paw of approval’!
Mrs. Scissors, LaGrange, GAAge and Occupation: 25, Photography & Graphic DesignFiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Engineering Grad StudentEngagement Date: January 1, 2009Wedding Date: June 2010Venue: Ceremony - First United Methodist Church; Reception - My parents' house!About Me: I’m a six-foot-three bride with a fifty-foot personality! I love great art, fabulous design, intense color, tons of music, indie photography, watching movies on repeat, and being really awesome. This super-tall, Southern, loud, quirky, neurotic artist is marrying a German, quiet, silly, super-amazing roboticist in an eclectic, funky, fun, snazzy, technicolored June wedding. Anything is game for this shindig, for it is all about us! We’re bringing giant paper cranes, six-foot-tall portraits, fortune cookies, a photo booth, a club-circuit DJ, handcuffs, and possibly a kidnapping to this small Southern town. Watch out, y’all, and try to keep up!
I’ve been gone. I know, I’m terrible, but I had to do it. If I hadn’t put myself on wedding hiatus, there would be no way in hockey sticks that I would ever have been able to do all of the things I’ve done.
Oh, what have I done, you ask? Well, this Friday is my senior exit show, and I’ve been working my tail off to get everything ready. Countless hours matting, framing, cutting, linen-taping, nailing, painting, screaming, four-letter-wording, not sleeping, you name it––all for one (hopefully) glorious exit show. I wish that I had photos to show you of the entire process, but that would probably have been ridiculously impossible for me to do, you know, while like holding, oh, a three-foot piece of glass and not killing myself. Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, DallasAge and Occupation: 28, Special Projects CoordinatorFiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity TraderEngagement Date: March 19, 2009Wedding Date: April 2010Venue: Marie Gabrielle, DallasAbout Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.
Since we are both terrible at taking pictures, my honeymoon recaps will be short and sweet. I get embarrassed about taking lots of pictures, and even though I have my camera, I never want to pull it out. But, I digress…
When we last left off, we’d arrived at the resort, enjoyed some food, and got some rest.
So, we woke up in our lovely room and decided to get a little breakfast by the beach:
Mrs. Guinea Pig, Baltimore, MD Age and Occupation: 26, PhD student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Operations Director at a non-profit Engagement Date: December 25, 2008 Wedding Date: May 2010Venue: The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club About Me: I'm a tomboy science nerd whose girly side has made a startling appearance thanks to wedding planning! I love to bake, knit and sew but I also ride a motorcycle (that Mr. Guinea Pig wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole). We live with our three crazy cats and love to read, travel, watch movies, and do home improvement projects together! My parents/family are Canadian but I'm definitely American, although I've lived in 5 different countries, 6 different states, and speak Russian fluently. Mr. GP and I met online (did I mention I'm a scientist?) and had a whirlwind romance - now we can't wait to get married & celebrate with all our friends and family in a blue and yellow waterfront affair!
As I’ve mentioned before, we’re doing Out-of-Town bags for all the guests who will be staying overnight in hotels on Kent Island for our wedding. While I’ve thought about the contents of those bags quite a few times over the past many months, one thing I’d never thought about was the bottled water.
I just thought, ‘okay, we’ll include two bottles per bag. Easy peasy, done deal.’ However here’s a conversation I had on gchat with my mom last week:
Mom: also, you didn’t answer about water bottle labels
Mom: can I help order labels?
me: I wasn’t planning on personalizing the water bottles

About Me: When my best friend dragged me to a toga party in our freshmen year of college, I was not expecting to meet my future husband; but seven years later, here we are. I'm a crazy-organized planner at heart, and I am a great lover of random trivia, books, chocolate, blogs, new and exciting adventures, mockumentary-style television, and anything heavily flavored with bright orange fake cheese powder. We're planning a festive and fun mini-destination wedding in the place where we met: fabulous Pittsburgh, PA! I can't wait to marry the man I love!
Mrs. Cola, Mountain View, CAAge and Occupation: 27, Product Communications and PromotionsFiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Managing Partner and Senior DesignerEngagement Date: March 5, 2009Wedding Date: June 2010Venue: The Mountain Terrace, Woodside, CAAbout Me: I’m a Washington State native, enjoying life in Silicon Valley California with my fiancé, our three kitties and one leopard gecko. I like reading wedding blogs, Photoshopping wedding design mock ups, making lists, and planning, planning, planning! I’m a bit of an anomaly, on one side I’m a very girlie girl, I collect shoes, I lay out my outfits 4-6 weeks in advance, and I’d never leave the house without my hair curled and makeup on. But on the other side, I’m a total tomboy, I love to go camping and hiking, play drinking games (hey, I’m Irish!) and most of my closest friends are guys. My fiancé and I are planning a DIY-focused wedding with a balance between easygoing (what he wants) and chic and stylish (what I want), and are tying it all together with elements in lavender, sage, butter cream and chocolate.
So, I know my over-the-top flowered shoes aren’t for everyone (but I love them, so that’s what matters, right?). However, the ribbon roses my mom made for them could be used for a ton of other projects too! For bouquets, boutonnieres, on a dress sash, in your hair, grouped together to adorn pews… there are a lot of possibilities out there!
A while ago I searched the Weddingbee blog for a tutorial on ribbon flowers, but could only find clay and fabric flowers, so I asked my mom to take step by step pictures of her making the flowers.
Here are the instructions:
Cut the ribbon to desired length. We used 1-1/4 yards of 1-1/2” ribbon. For a smaller rose use 3/4 yards of 1/2” or 5/8” ribbon. Thread a needle with matching thread and knot the end. Fold down one corner on the ribbon and sew a few stitches. If you are using a ribbon with one “good” side, start with the “good” side down. Or you can use double sided satin ribbon, so both sides are “good”.

The soon-to-be hubs plays "Mr. Fix-It" in our new condo while I swoon over beautiful, personalized stationery and choose shades of aubergine for my bridesmaids' dresses... and thus begins my new fairy tale! Skirting to the East Coast for our September nuptials where my home state of Rhode Island awaits with fall foliage, I'm just a few dress fittings and bachelorette party away from saying "I Do" to a very happy ending!
Not too long ago I got an email from one of my Wedding Elves (i.e. Mama Seashell or FMIL) that said, “I’m Dripping in Pearls! 8 containers x 66ft!” with this photo attached:

We are looking forward to sharing our day with our family and friends, and most importantly, starting our lives together as husband and wife!
Do you know how you have those times during your wedding planning that are all sunshine and rainbows and unicorns? And then… at other times you may experience some periods of cloudy skies and storms?
I currently have an ominous rain cloud over my head. Let me explain…

Close enough!). I’m also a recycling fanatic, fluent in bad accents and I have the loudest laughter this side of the Mississippi. I have not just one sweet tooth, but a whole mouth full of sweet teeth. I cry at 97.4% of all movies I see, but my fiance’s always there to hand me a tissue. My geek-chic fiance and I are planning a wedding full of color, cookies and handmade goodness and I can’t wait to spill the beans on all of our crazy ideas!

I'm from Chicago, he's from NYC, and we both miss public transit and great pizza. We have an adorable muppet dog called Paco. I'm part hippie with a healthy dash of hip hop superstar, have excessive empathy for animals, and have not one, but two bionic eyes (long story). We're broke and it ain't no joke. It can't stop us from planning the bold and whimsical wedding of our dreams, but we've had to get pretty creative to make it work, yo!
(Hey you. Yes, you! Before you read this, go here and read all about our ceremony music so you’re up to speed. Aight? Cool.)
It’s grand entrance time, yo! And we always knew we wanted Jump Around to play as our reception entrance music. I mean come on. It’s only one of the most legendary party beats ever. But, the Bungalow Club had accidentally miscommunicated the DJ set-up situation and so The Flashdance wasn’t able to play during cocktail hour or dinner as we planned. And you know what? It didn’t even matter one bit! The Bungalow Club put on a great, eclectic music mix, Michael got to relax and enjoy the dinner and toasts… and we brought the hype ourselves!
It is my pleasure to introduce, Mr. and Mrs. Meatball! Read more…

Cake Stats: 3 white square tiers with whipped cream icing; accented with yellow bands, white pearl dots, beautiful white daisies, and our lovely custom cake toppers in our likeness.

My family emigrated from Romania to San Jose, CA when I was 8, and I've been a Nor Cal girl ever since! My fiancé is also a Bay Area native, so it’s funny that we met at UCLA, as college freshmen living on the same floor (go Bruins!). Between his career as an Air Force pilot and my path to becoming a lawyer, our relationship has been anything but typical. We currently live together in Berkeley with our puppy Stinson. In addition to spending time with the loves of my life, I enjoy crafting, attempting complicated recipes, environmental law and non-law school reading (Us Weekly, anyone?). Follow along as I plan an elegant 200-person winery wedding, graduate law school, take the Bar exam, get married and get used to the always unpredictable but never boring life of a military spouse!
If we end up having our puppy in the wedding, it will definitely be as the flower dog. I was thinking of attaching a couple fake buds to his collar to spruce him up for the big day, but then I saw this:

Mrs. Hot Wings, Chicago/San DiegoAge and Occupation: 28, ProfessorFiance's Age and Occupation: 32, InstructorEngagement Date: December 20, 2008Wedding Date: August 2010Venue: Ocean View Villas/Jasmine Seafood RestaurantAbout Me: I am a psychology grad student living in Chicago and planning my wedding to a fellow psych grad student. I am a Sunny So-Cal bred gal who trudged across the country to follow her love of psychology and ended up finding a partner in the process. I am overly passionate about anything I involve myself with. I am an activist, a foodie, a reality TV watching junkie, an over-analyzer, a photography obsesser, and am utterly cheesy to the core. This is a story of what happens when a boy and a girl meet, fall in love over academic dorkiness, and a shared love for life. We (mostly I) are planning our semi-destination wedding in my hometown of San Diego. We are excited to bring our families and friends together from across our lifespans to celebrate our future in a grand 400+ person culturally blended affair!
And the mamas’ dresses are complete! Mama In Law Hot Wings has picked her dress and it is tres jolie. Oui?
It features layered chiffon with beading along the edges on the skirt and through the bodice. Doesn’t she look young and sassy? No one would ever believe she’s 32-year-old Mr. Hot Wings’ mama! I can’t wait to see our beautiful wedding party all together. They are so sassy and all such hotties. You’ll see.

Oh hey there, hive… have you been noticing how infrequently I’ve been posting lately? Well, if you haven’t noticed, just keep going about your daily business. If you have; my excuse is that I’m currently working 6 days a week and trying desperately to complete the 1,001 wedding related appointments and tasks before the big day! So, cut me a little slack, pretty please?
I do have some exciting-ness to share with you about my upcoming weekend. The Stilettos are going to be in town, and the wonderful Mr. Stiletto and I are going to be meeting up to take some photos! How exciting! We will be traversing Clearwater beach together, starting at the crack of dawn!
But… what to wear? I’ve been contemplating the options. Originally, we wanted the photos to include Mr. Buttons, but he has to work (sad face!). So, it is just little ol’ me! To start… perhaps a pretty blue maxi dress paired with a large pendant necklace…
