Mrs. Dolphin's Picture
Mrs. Dolphin, Gainesville, FL Age and Occupation: 24, Graduate Architecture Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Interactive Interface Developer Engagement Date: February 14, 2008 Wedding Date: May 2010 Venue: Plantation Bay Country Club About Me: I’m currently a Graduate Student at the University of Florida studying Architecture. I enjoy playing Scrabble with my Fiance, rooting for the Florida Gators, making any drink that involves a blender, cleaning (yes... I’m crazy), design... GOOD design that is, the new Pepsi with natural sugar, taking pictures, discovering new places in the U.S., and obsessing over doing (and designing) everything myself for our upcoming wedding!
About Mrs. Dolphin

Hmm.. where to start? How about at the very beginning of my massive/tons of fun/spectacular girls’ weekend with mah sweet besties. I was excited to finally have a weekend with my girls (while Mr. Dolphin played paintball with the boys), and the weekend did not disappoint!

The Friday before my bridal shower, Sunny MOH, Seminole Bridesmaid, and Gator Bridesmaid met up with me back home, in good ol’ Flagler Beach, and we headed down to Orlando together for dinner, and some sweet girl bonding. In the car ride down I realized I was the only girl in the car that wasn’t married. Weird how that happens?

We had tons of good chats about our respected hubbies/fiances, fashion, Bravo TV shows, Jessica Simpson, wedding crazy-ness, and school (as Gator Bridesmaid has just recently applied to graduate school).

We arrived at our hotel and proceeded to get all dolled up for our dinner at Cafe Tu Tu Tango.

And what does getting dolled up entail? Mimosas (hey it isn’t just a brunch drink) complete with awesome glasses, lots of hair curling and straightening, and makeup with my personal makeup stylist Seminole Bridesmaid.

How cute are those glasses? And in our wedding colors? LOVE IT!

Seminole Bridesmaid might kill me for putting this picture up, but I love it! I will make it up to her by making her red velvet cupcakes. {yum yum}

Ah… I love these girls.

And then we were off to Cafe Tu Tu Tango, a tapas restaurant in Orlando that also sorta doubles as an artist studio. Artists are set up in stations all over the restaurant and are painting, etc while you eat. It’s pretty awesome.

I have to tell you that I’m not one of those ’love the attention on me’ brides. I actually get pretty nervous when the attention is all on me. So, naturally, I’m not a bride that parades around in a crown and phallic paraphernalia announcing that I’m getting hitched. Maybe if I was in New Orleans I would do it (Gator Bridesmaid had her bachelorette weekend in NOLA and it was amazing), but alas, we were in Florida/Orlando, and it just isn’t my thing.

So, having amazing bridesmaids as I do, they respected my wishes to not make a huge deal in public. Which is what I love them for—they are always so sweet in thinking of what I would want.

At Cafe Tu Tu Tango we proceeded to order a shi* load of food. That is all I could describe it as… a shi* load of food.

Whoever said Gators and Seminoles didn’t get along?

Massive amounts of food, girl chat, and several glasses of Sangria later, we headed back to our hotel to chill out. When we got back to the hotel Gator Bridesmaid, Seminole Bridesmaid and Sunny MOH showered me with lingerie for Mr. Dolphin’s and my honeymoon. Currently my bag of lingerie is sitting in our bedroom and Mr. Dolphin always looks at it and says, “When are you going to use those?” with hopeful eyes, and I have to remind him that they are for the honeymoon. :)

I’m not keen on showing off all the lingerie I received (as they are for Mr. Dolphin’s eyes only :) ) but, I must mention the Panty Poem. Seminole Bridesmaid presented this poem to me, along with corresponding baggies of underwear to open, and it was just too much fun not to share.

Recap: Night Out with Mah Ladies : wedding bachelorette party gainesville 8 8

She set up these baggies in our hotel room, each with corresponding pieces of the poem below, and Sunny MOH, Gator Bridesmaid and Seminole Bridesmaid each took turns reading the poem parts to me.

Panty Poem

The bridesmaids have a secret to share
About our little bride
She is obsessed with underwear
And that we cannot hide

So for our little panty queen
We gathered up some twine
And working as a friendly team
We made a panty line.

Miss Dolphin these undies are to last you
All throughout your life
And Mr. Dolphin will be pleased to say
He has a sexy wife!

So listen up to hear about
Your lifelong panty plan
These underwear, we have no doubt
Will last your whole life span

The first are for your wedding day
Of course they are pure white
We know Mr. Dolphin will shout, “Hooray!”
When he sees you on that night

The next are for your honeymoon
They’re sexy and all lace
We hope you’ll leave your hotel room
’Cause Maui’s a gorgeous place!

On Valentine’s you’ll wear this pair
Before you hit the bed
Cuz Cupid’s arrow in the air
Shoots tushies that are red

After a year has passed you’ll face
Anniversary number one
With these you’ll surely have a blast
’Cuz leopard’s so much fun!

Then when the time is right for you
And don’t be saying, “Maybe”
You’ll wear your little pink or blue
In honor of your baby

And when your years of wedding bliss
Become the big 2-5
Don’t worry - you’ll just slip this on
To keep the sparks alive

Recap: Night Out with Mah Ladies : wedding bachelorette party gainesville 9 9

With these I will supposedly keep ’the sparks alive’ :)

When finally you’re old and gray
With these you can’t go wrong
’Cuz sorry Miss Dolphin but at that age
You just can’t wear a thong

Me and my granny panties. Seriously hilarious. As you can see I was quite thrilled to get them. Haha. Mr. Dolphin actually said he was embarrassed that I was posting this picture.

After the girls’ night, we headed back to Flagler Beach for my Bridal Shower at Mama Dolphin’s, but not before stopping at IKEA for some wedding items (how come I can’t leave Orlando without going to IKEA?).

I picked up these babies for our table numbers (along with a frame for our Wedding genealogy chart… more on that later):

Tolsby Frame, IKEA, .99 cents each

.99 cent frames for our table numbers? What a deal! I have sketched up plans for our table numbers and have tasked Mr. Dolphin in doing them. Stay tuned!

Also I love those IKEA frames! I’m still looking for table numbers… might have to borrow that! Can’t wait to see what you do with ‘em.

I love those ikea frames…and I’m almost tempted to buy them except I’m not getting married for another 11 years (or so it feels like 11 years). $.99 each is such a great price. Like @missguineapig I can’t see what you do with them!

I love so many things about your post!

First of all those frames!!! We are having a photobooth and the pictures come out 4X6 so for favors we wanted chic white frames.. We are having 200 people so the .99c price is PERFECT. Right now we have been going crazy getting plain wooden frames from michaels crafts and painting them white. which has been taking forever and the money we were saving on not spending 5.00 a frame we ended up spending on paint and supplies. and we are running out of time and patience…

I immediately went to ikea.com and saw they have them at the ikea in MA!! so for that… I LOVE YOU!!!

also, that panty poem is the cutest thing I have ever seen!!
