Bust a Move

May 3rd, 2010 @ 11:49 am by Mrs. Frog

I’m all about personalizing your big day. It only happens once, so we want do everything we can to make it our own. This new trend of unique wedding dances is probably one of my most favorite things that has developed as of late. How can you not crack a smile watching a bride and groom do the Thriller dance… and we all have seen the infamous dance down the aisle that swept across the internet this year—I loved that twist.

So I’ll confess, I have stalked the hell out of YouTube spent some time reviewing a few videos. I couldn’t help myself; I had to include some of the ones I love below.

How cute are they? I just love that they chose something original:

I love that they even got into it from the beginning:

This one is pretty cute, I love that the whole bridal party is included – it’s a great twist!

I saved my favorite for last. I love their energy and the way it ends really shows the kind of reception that I love to attend! What a great way to open up the dance floor! (The real fun begins at about 1:10)

There are tons more but I’d love to see any that you have made or marked as favorites – don’t keep them for yourself—spread the love, kids!

Is anyone planning to do a surprise dance at their wedding? Have you been to a wedding where one was performed?

LOVE THIS POST!! I actually do this for a living in CT.. I started my own small business on the side choreographing wedding first dances and wedding party dances.. also just do dance instruction as well. ANYWAY! Everyone is expecting us to do something crazy so we will not disapoint! :) We are doing Jason Mraz Lucky that will then go into an old school hip hop medley of sorts… “Motown Philly” Boyz II Men, “Now that we found love” Heavy D, “Jump On It”, and “Poison”!

I definitely recommend doing a fun dance or even just getting some simple dance lessons because it will make you so much more comfortable and confident but also it’s a TON of fun! It’s time that you get to step back from planning and share something fun with your FI!

If anyone has questions for me or in need of some suggestions, happy to help! Just PM me!! :)

My good friends had the wedding party dance to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bAN7Ts0xBo

They tried to replicate the dance moves from the video. It was super entertaining. I just wish I knew what the song is about!

I’m SO excited that we decided to do a choreographed dance! It won’t be quite as much fun as those, but we at least won’t be doing the 7th grade sway :)

I love all these ideas for a unique dance at your wedding! I wish Mr. C would be down for doing something like this, but I think I’m going to have to settle for the “8th grade sway.”

I love the “Evolution of Dance” ones, so cute! Sadly, there is no way in H-E-double hockey sticks that Mr TM would agree to even attempt this :(

I wish we could pull something like this off, but we are too uncoordinated.

I REALLY am looking forward to our first dance. “Our song” is actually My Everything by Barry White - thats when he said he first fell in love with me. So we’ll start off with something nice, and romantic, and then kick it into gear.

I’m still trying to decide if I should get my bridal party involved, or make it a surprise for everyone!
