Mrs. Frozen Yogurt's Picture
Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.
About Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

When we left off I had given gifts to 2 of my girls. Well, now that the wedding is over, I’ve given all my gifts away. As you might remember (or maybe you don’t) I decided to get each of my girls something that made me think of them. I thought of it more like a Christmas or birthday gift. With that in mind I picked out the following gifts:

For Sister Fro Yo I got her a bracelet, earrings and a Visa gift card:

I can’t find the earrings. I’m lame, but they were kind of like this:

I know you’re probably thinking a Visa gift card is a cop-out, but I knew that she would really like it. Besides, what’s better than being able to buy yourself whatever you want?

For bridesmaid Katherine (and Mr. Fro Yo’s sister), I got her this kick ass watch from Fossil:

I really wanted to get one for myself too, but I refrained.

For bridesmaid Sarah, I got her a L.A.M.B. wallet/clutch because she loves Gwen Stefani:

I wanted to get her tickets to see Chelsea Handler, but when I looked at the date I realized that it conflicted with the rehearsal, so unfortunately that wasn’t going to work.

And for bridesmaids Sydney, I got items related to cooking because she’s an amazing cook. I got her truffle salt (yum!) and a gift certificate for a cooking class from Whole Foods:

And finally for each of the moms, I got a Kate Spade tote:

I loved giving everyone gifts and I hope they all appreciate them.

Did you go the customized route, or did you find a gift that worked for everyone?

I only had one bridesmaid — my sister who was my MOH. I got her a painting from mydavinci.com which takes one of your photos and makes them into a painting.

Then for the wedding day I got her customized jewelry from http://www.AfinishingTouch.etsy.com

These are great! I LOVE that bracelet and that clutch. Instead of going the “something for you” route, I went the “here’s stuff for this day so you don’t have to buy it” route.

I got them recycled totes, flip flops, BPA free water bottles, makeup bags w/ some day of necessities & a bracelet & earring set to wear at the wedding.

My FI is still deciding what to get the groomsmen - but he is thinking some kind of engraved knife/ mag light set…

And I have NO idea what to get the parents yet.. I’ll be thinking about that this weekend! They all say that they don’t want anything.

Great Idea, but I will be going the route of @Ella1978 and getting gifts they can use at the wedding. I plan on throwing in a cute umberella to tie in the spring theme. And if worst comes to worst and if they are needed, there will be some cute pictures!

@krissybee: I stalked discount sites like gilt group, ideeli and hautelook to get the best prices on everything. Otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to get everyone these gifts.

Those are some kick ass gifts! LOVING the LAMB wallet. Your girls must’ve been over the moon when you gifted these to them. Very sweet of you.

One of my bridesmaids just bought herself that fossil watch. How I wish she had waitied! I love the idea of different gifts for each girl. I was unable to come up with anything unique that would fit all four.
