We left off after a wonderful welcome in Mexico and an amazing day in Cozumel, and things just kept getting better!
We spent day 4 enjoying our resort’s fantastic beach and pool.
And as we returned from a fun day in the sun, this was waiting for me in our room:
Decorations for my 26th birthday! It was very surprising, and it made me really happy.
I also found out that I would be going to our resort’s five star spa the following afternoon for a deluxe pedicure (and boy did I need it - all that dancing at the wedding really did a number on my feet), and that my fabulous parents had smuggled a gift in our suitcase as well!
Would you believe me if I said that our night got even better? You may remember me mentioning that my favorite place on earth is Coco Bongo, and that’s exactly where we were headed that evening.
We signed up for a Party Hopper Pass through Apple, our travel agent. At $80 per person, our tickets included round trip, door-to-door transportation, covers at 3 bars, and 7 (seven!) hours of open bar. Where were we off to? Senor Frogs, Carlos n Charlie’s, and (drum roll!) Coco Bongo! Or, in other words, my three favorite places in Mexico - places I’d been dying for Burger to experience. I was so excited to hear that a Coco Bongo had opened in Playa del Carmen, so we were able to Party Hop even closer to our hotel than if we had driven up to Cancun!
Party Hopper Tip: I know that $80 per person seems like a lot of money for a night out, and it is. But to give some perspective, during my last trip to Mexico two years ago, we went to Coco Bongo in Cancun on our own (not as part of a group), and we paid $20 in transportation, $90 cover (included an open bar), and $20 in tips. The cover was really expensive then because it was a Friday during a holiday week, but in general the cover at Coco Bongo is usually $50-80. It was worth it to me then because I love, love, love Coco Bongo, but when I heard about Apple’s Party Hopper deal on our honeymoon I was totally sold - in the end, it was totally worth it to spend one really fun, late, “college” night of our honeymoon.
I highly recommend it if you think you will enjoy a party sort of atmosphere!
So, let’s get this party started! We drank some yummy frozen drinks at dinner (he was excited, I swear!).
Then, we arrived at our first stop - Carlos n Charlie’s - the guys that work there are so much fun!
Our next stop was Senor Frogs—the pictures really don’t do this place justice!
And FINALLY, my favorite
Hypnotiq shot from a girl with a whistle? Sure, why not?!

And because pictures just can’t explain this place unless you’ve been there, here’s some video for your enjoyment!
After finally getting home at 3:30 AM, we passed out in a state of total bliss.
I hope you’re enjoying our Mexican adventure! There’s just one more post left to wrap up our best vacation ever.
