About Mrs. Argyle

Nach-yo cheese. Fountain.

Yes, nacho cheese fountain.

A little back story:

When I first got engaged, one of the guys I dated back in high school (yes, we are still friends) would always write comments on my Facebook page about how we should get a nacho cheese fountain for our wedding. After reading his comments and rolling my eyes, I would respond with, “I’m pretty sure that’s not possible.”

So fast-forward almost an entire year to February 2010. I was at a wedding. The reception was held at the City Museum, and cocktail hour was taking place beforehand. So, into Architectural Hall I walked to find this:

Yes, that is a nacho cheese fountain. So, how’d I handle this one? First, I grabbed some soft pretzels and dug in (the obvious choice). Then, I walked up to the nacho cheese fountain attendant and asked for a card. I told her I was getting married in September and would LOVE to hire her.

That week, I gave her a call, signed the contract and sent in my deposit.

So, what will we be serving with said nacho cheese fountain?

If you’re not from St. Louis, that logo means nothing to you. But, if you are, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Did, I mention that Gus’ Pretzels is literally across the street from the Anheuser-Busch brewery? Mmm…beer and pretzels. So, our guests will get to enjoy their late night snack of nacho cheese… from a fountain, with Gus’s FAMOUS pretzel sticks.

Are you incorporating any fun elements or hometown traditions into your wedding?

love it! I would rather have that instead of a chocolate fountain. I wanted a french fry bar, the closest thing we found was that our venue has a mashed potato bar, which I know isn’t really original but if I can put cheese, salt, etc. on a potato product , I’m happy :)

@hola- My cousin had a mashed potato martini bar. The mashed potatoes were put in a martini glass and the toppings were added to it! She also had sundried tomatoes, chives and the usual toppings. It was really tasty!

My husband and I did this for our wedding! A DIY nacho cheese fountain. We bought the fountain (two actually, one nacho cheese, one chocolate) from Sam’s club for somewhere around $35 each and used the standard snack-stand cheese sauce. The guys got up the morning of the wedding and set up the fountains and melted chocolate and set out chips, pretzels and fruits at the reception venue. It was such a HUGE hit.
