I enjoy my tattoos, especially this one. I suppose this is a plus, seeing as how they’re, um, not coming off.
So, I never think twice about exposing them, even after some lamented the irreversible damage I inflicted on my skin. Half the professional people in these parts, including my boss, are covered in them, so it’s never been a work issue, either. Nonetheless, there are plenty of brides who cover them up for the day-of, presumably for propriety. Maybe tradition? Photos? Maybe someone’s parents would freak seeing normally covered body art for the first time. I’m sure the reasons are varied.
I think it looks great with wedding dresses because I dig the art, the contrast with white, and, mostly, the personal touch. You can copy dresses, hairstyles, and hairpieces, but you hopefully (right?!) don’t know anyone with the exact same tattoo setup. Par exémple:

My work isn’t that large or this intricate, but it’s definitely visible. Here’s a sampling of one side. More stars crawl upward:
(Note: like a proper anarchist, I’m pretending to erase a happy-birthday message at my friend’s metal-themed birthday party. In my defense, it was already partially erased and presented a golden photo-op.)

Is anyone doing serious body-art reduction for the day-of? Piercing removals, tattoo cover-ups, and the like? Why or why not?
