About Mrs. Hamster

In my last bachelorette party post, we had cupcakes, painted some pottery and got fantabulous. But what was up next? My friends kept me in the dark each step of the way, but when our cab stopped in the swanky Meatpacking District, I knew we were up for something good.

Turns out we were booked at the Soho House for the night. Woooooo!! If it’s good enough for the SATC girls, it’s good enough for the Hammy entourage!

Rooftop Pool at the Soho House

MOH Sis Hamster and BM A went up a few minutes early to “prepare the suite” - was that code speak for “undress the stripper”? I would soon find out. We were finally summoned upstairs…

My “Ok guys, what’s behind the red velvet curtain?” face

No really, there was a red velvet curtain, and I knew they were hiding *something* (or someone) behind it. Now what could they be hiding that, when revealed, yields this series of reactions?

Only one thing…

EDWARD! Where have you been all my life?

In case you haven’t noticed, I have a tiny crush on Edward (or Robert Pattinson. Eh, potato potahto). So what if he’s a tad younger than me and um, fictional? My gals didn’t disappoint - notice the New Moon poster in the background, and this little detail that allows me to sleep with Edward every night:

OK so it was a little scratchy (It must have been 50 thread count tops), but I’m willing to make the sacrifice.

Of course we needed a group picture with Edward in the tub…

(OH! And rumor has it that a certain Pug got word of this Edward encounter - sorry to disappoint, Puggles - our only encounter with RP that evening was in 2-dimensional form. Although, lemme tell ya - one reason MOH Sis Hamster booked the Soho House is that RP has been known to frequent the rooftop deck during his NYC visits. Okweareslightlyobsessed.)

I then marveled over the suite - it is bigger than our one-bedroom apartment! Too bad I couldn’t just move in for good.

My friends got me some lovely lingerie that was not too raunchy, as well as some other blush-inducing gifts:

Okay, I was a leeetle embarrassed when I opened up the penis pasta, but I got over that soon enough - who doesn’t love carbs? Of course, I brought Edward over to witness the present-opening.

As a really cute memento, MOH Sis Hamster created these tank tops with the bachelorette weekend logo for all of my friends! Thank you, Sissy!

Of course, I had to put one on Edward.

We then headed out to dinner at Mr. Chow.

Hamster Fun Fact #1: I have a crush on all people who talk food to me. Guys, girls, young, old - talk “duck confit” or “pork fat” or “deep fried [anything]” and I will love you forever.

Don’t believe me? Witness our faces as the waiter told us the daily specials:

I rest my case.

As a testament to Mr. Chow, I usually take pictures of ALL my food. I am obsessed. The food was so good that I completely forgot to do so until dessert. And what do I capture - everyone digging into the coconut sorbet.

Always say yes to dessert.

After a scrumptious dinner, we headed back to the Soho House to check out the roof deck. Alas, Edward wasn’t there that night, but I felt better knowing he was waiting for us back in our room.

Edward, look at what you’re missing.

We wrapped up the bachelorette weekend with brunch on Sunday morning at Marc Forgione, where we pigged out on grits, pancakes, eggs benny and omelets. Yummo!

I had such an amazing weekend. I was so nervous about it going in, but my bridesmaids obviously put a ton of effort into making the weekend fun, fabulous and filled with good food! Best of all, I got to spend quality time with my closest girlfriends - a real treat. Thank you so much, ladies! I love you all! :)

What did your bachelorette festivities entail?

OMG coconut sorbet, SoHo House, and Edward Cullen! Your friends are hilarious I love the cardboard cut out. Super fabulous Bachelorette party, lucky Hamster!

I’ve yet to have my official party, but on our annual spring trip they surprised me with Puppetry of the Penis tickets. Ridiculous and hilarious and highly recommended.

Looks great but I have one question… maybe its my eyes, or my computer, but in the 3rd/4th/5th row of pictures… is that a pair of legs dangling out of a light fixture?!?

What a great idea. Unforunately, I’m totally team Jacob, but that was a great touch!

@Mrs. Pug: No shame, I did sleep with him that night. I also shared the bed with two other ladies, so there were 4 of us - a bit crowded, but I won’t complain.

@LurkMcGurk: Good catch! That’s actually a pair of panties - Sis Hamster and BM A threw 5 pairs of panties around the suite and that was one of them. You’ll also see one on the heardboard, haha.

@SummerCamp: Rumor has it there’s also a Jacob cutout, you know, just in case you’re interested ;)
