Making a Groomsman Happy

May 7th, 2010 @ 4:55 pm by Mrs. Frog

It’s funny how many little things you don’t think about when you first start planning. One that you really cannot forget is to thank those wonderful friends who stood by your side throughout your courtship and were thrilled to have been invited to again stand by your side as you say I do. (Can I get an “awwwww”?)

If your groomsmen are anything like ours… a gift connected to alcohol will probably hit the spot (pun intended). And for those who are looking for something that won’t necessarily promote lushery—it’s my post and I say it’s a word—read on because each of these gifts can go double duty.

First up:

Making a Groomsman Happy : wedding groomsman gift phoenix Persona

A personalized travel cooler. The manly version of a picnic basket, yes? I’m picturing camping trips, tailgate parties and golf outings. It even comes with free monogramming! PS – this baby holds up to a 12-pack of beer, root or alcoholic.

Option 2:

Making a Groomsman Happy : wedding groomsman gift phoenix Dram Sa

Reef Men’s Dram Sandals. You know the old woman who lived in her shoe? Well, I’m thinking if it were a pair of Drams, might not be so bad. And I find it funny that you could roll up to a friend’s house and when asked if you want something to drink, you can point to your shoe – “No thanks, I’m good.”

Option 3:

Making a Groomsman Happy : wedding groomsman gift phoenix Beer Ho

Beer holster. A few years ago I picked one of these up while on a girls trip to Mexico for Frogger and needless to say, it was a HUGE success. When we began talking about groomsmen gifts, he insisted this be an option and I must say – the idea of our groomsmen sporting these bad boys and dueling with beer sounds priceless. Say it with me, “A picture is worth a thousand words.”

If you had to choose between these three, which would you choose? Frogger and I each have our favorites but I’m dying for an outside perspective. I should also mention that if the one I’m leaning toward is chosen, Frogger is on laundry duty… and we have a lot of laundry. My fate is in your hands, be good to me.

I vote for the cooler. Alcohol in your shoes seems kinda icky to me.

I like the travel cooler - especially if you pre-load it. But that sandal is wild! I’ve never seen anything like it. But I would find it gross to drink beer from my shoe… haha.

The cooler would probably get the most use and that’s actually what we are thinking of giving our groomsmen

I really like the cooler as well… the shoe seems awesome, but really weird at the same time… wouldn’t your alcohol get warm? eek… the holster is really cool too, but I think they would get a lot more use out of the cooler!

are those sandals for real? yick!

I vote the cooler. I think we are getting our groomsmen hoodies with pouches that hold a bottle

I vote for the shoes. The cooler may get used if your GM are responsible (or married), but my younger brother GM are simply not up for that class level. The shoes are awesome. AWESOME.

The cooler is the most practical, but I’ve got to go with Frogger on this one: beer holster is the funniest thing ever, and would be totally great in photos. And every party you two throw from here on out.

I think the shoes are out. They are a fun idea but after you have worn flip flops for a month would you really want anything you eat or drink to be touching them? I don’t think so. The holster would be very funny but much less practical than the cooler. You just need to decide if your guys are practical sorts…or if they want to duel with beer. :)

I vote for cooler and holster! I have the same concerns about the shoe as others above me :)

I love the holster idea for pictures - and even after you open the beer, it can hold it for you to have your hands free - great for outdoor parties where you may be playing horseshoes and other games. I’m way overthinking this, but kudos for finding that!!

Cooler seems the most practical, but I do agree that the holster could make for funny pics. The flip flops are hilarious -but I’m having visions of explosions and wet feet. Official vote for #1.

I’m voting for the cooler - although I think we may have to buy some beer holsters, those are hilarious!

Making a groomsman happy - you just made my DH very happy. I had no idea they made those sandals!!! He has dispos-a-flasks he brings to baseball games that he has to hide in his pockets, now he wont have to hide anything!!

I vote for the holster. Holsters are just plain awesome and a beer holster? Freakin’ genius! And you could totally have the leather tooled with your groomsmens’ names or nick-names which would be awesome! :)
