Day 2 started off with what would quickly become my favorite daily ritual – mmmmmm, breakfast buffet. After breakfast, we met with the hotel’s wedding coordinator to go over all the details and get our welcome gift, a nice hardcover book of the islands. The meeting was super quick because we were only doing the ceremony and they had already emailed us the details. So about 10 minutes later, we hopped in a taxi and took it into town to pick up our marriage license at the courthouse. It is so weird being on the left side of the road and looking over cliffs the wrong way! Not that I make it a habit of looking over cliffs, but you know what I mean. The views on the way were beautiful, despite the fact that it was raining.

Hee hee, he’s stuck with me now! Oh geez, that’s the first pic I’ve posted of myself with no makeup on. Be gentle cause there are many more to come. Take this fine example below…
WTF? Yeah, I don’t know what that face is. Anywho, after we left with our license in hand, we hit the main shopping area and wandered around for a bit in the rain.
Obviously this bright sunny day pic was from a different day but it’s the only one I have of the strip. We were actually happy for the wet morning because we couldn’t wear shorts, tank tops, or flip flops to the courthouse so we were a bit overdressed for the tropics. And we took a looooooong stroll to Pueblo, the local grocery store for cases of water and snacks (for the OOT bags), and beer (for my mouth).
When we got back to the resort, we assembled the bags and had everyone join us in our room. We had waited until day 2 to do this because all of our guests had officially arrived by then. And I’m happy to report that the bags were a big hit!

The little ones especially liked them… this one pulled a ‘grab the bag from the bottom and dump all over the floor’ move. I like to unload my groceries the same way…

Once the excitement was over, we all slathered on some sunscreen and hit the pool!
Best family photo ever. I think they should have it framed.
I figured I’d give you all a little more of the totally tubular ’80s bathing suit but that’s all you get.

Mr. N’s infamous cannonball
She’s brave. I would be screaming at the top of my lungs.

And I’ll leave you with this image from that night.
Up next, since day 3 was a wash (complete downpour all day long): Day 4 – WEDDING DAY!!
