About Mrs. Dolphin

As we are approaching Mr. Dolphin’s and my wedding, things are getting quite hectic. I apologize in advance if I don’t blog much this week or next. We are 1 week out and I’m freaking!!!!

Randomness of a Bride About to Become a Mrs. : wedding emotional gainesville Screen 024

Umm… Hello super scary countdown on our blog that is FREAKING ME OUT. I can no longer visit our blog, because it freaks me out too much. It doesn’t freak me out in a way that I don’t want to get married, but it freaks me out in a way that I can’t believe the time is almost here. 8 years of dating and here we are, 8 days from our wedding day. CRAZY. but… crazy happy, for sure. :)

I can’t believe this little 6 hour party we have been planning for 2 years and 3 months is finally 1 week away. Mr. Dolphin and I have been checking off our to-do list, packing for the honeymoon, and preparing for next weekend’s festivities.

I walk around the house like a chicken with my head cut off most of the time.

I’ll walk one direction, then remember something I need to do/pack/pick up something, and start walking another direction to go do it. I’ve actually lost about 3-5 pounds doing this. Um.. yeah, the last time I weighed what I do now was toward the end of middle school, and early on in high school.

Mr. Dolphin has been trying to fatten me up, by taking me to Chick-fil-A (our photographer’s FAV) and making spaghetti for dinner. He’s so funny. Fatten me up? I actually enjoy getting on the scale and seeing my weight. I think the change that I made to drop those few pounds was drinking mostly water instead of any other beverages. I’ve been on a water diet for a few weeks now. Water water water. I drink TONS of it. So there. That is my little secret weapon.

Will I forget to write the infamous ’day of the wedding’ blog post, that so many brides write? Probably. My mind is so scatterbrained right now. I have crazy lists of things to do all over my desk. But, I will do my best to be a good little blogger bride. :)

This is a T-shirt I should probably be wearing this week. For sure.

Mr. Dolphin and I have finished up the rest of our dance practices and lessons. We videotaped our progress on the way, so look out for some funny videos of us practicing in the next few months. Hopefully we don’t mess it up on our wedding day… we’re keeping our fingers crossed!

Okay, this is where I need y’alls advice, and bride expertise… how did y’all relax before your wedding day? How did you get rid of the nervous jitters, and the “I think I’m going to throw up because so many people are looking at me” fears?

I’m getting married on the 15th too, and I can’t sleep at night because i keep thinking of all the things I need to do still and can’t forget to pack! (Our wedding is kind of a ‘destination wedding’ for us since we don’t live in the town in which it’s being held.)

I’ll be watching for good advice too.

EEEEE!

I am the biggest worrier, so I don’t have the best advice on how to relax. Congrats though! Enjoy it as much as possible. Maybe a glass of wine and a hot bubble bath would help!

I am not married however I have 2 sisters that are and 2 sister-in-laws and they say this: before its your time take 5-10 minutes by yourself - ALONE. Enjoy a glass of wine if you want. Look at yourself in the mirror, stare out a window, think of all the things you have wanted in life. If one of the things you wanted was/is to marry your best friend - take some deep breaths get giddy inside and say to yourself, ‘I’m now ready…” And then proceed to ’show time…’ Hope that helps ;)

Do you watch “How I Met Your Mother”? Your weight reminds me of Lilly trying to gain weight but no matter what she eats she doesn’t gain! Best of luck!

Just look forward to the honeymoon and marriage that comes after the wedding day. If you enjoy yourself, everyone else will too. Don’t let the “what ifs” or uncompleted projects get you down. Don’t forget to breathe!

I have no advice (because I guarantee I’ll be a jittery ball of excited craziness too) but hang in there!!! You’re only a bride-to-be for 8 more days! :)

the morning of the wedding, before we started getting ready, he and I went for a drive. We got coffee and just enjoyed a few moments alone together and held hands and giggled that we would soon be married. That was the second best moment of that day. It was just what we needed.

oh, i have no advice to offer you. just make sure you continue to take a few minutes for yourself everyday leading up to the wedding. it’ll help to center you.

We drove about 2 hours away from everything and everyone, and turned off the cell phone.

Oh man, were they mad when we got back…but 100% worth it. It was probably the most relaxed we were all month.

Thank you everyone for the advice! I think I just have to keep in mind that these are all my family and friends and they don’t judge!! And remember what we are doing that day. I just get so shy and nervous in big crowds… plus Mr. D’s speech he is planning might possibly make me uncomfortable, he is always one to crack jokes… oh my. Stay tuned for how that turns out!:-)

@Miss Bubbles: Mr. D made it for us. He is handy with the internets. lol
