Wedding Dream #2: The Blackout

May 9th, 2010 @ 3:20 pm by Mrs. Taco

The title makes it sound a lot more rock star than it actually was.

I finally had another wedding dream. Unlike the first noteworthy one, it didn’t involve pretty dresses or making the most of a problem sitch. Rather, it involved blacking out during the entire event. Not like a drunken haze where everything is blurry. More like I wasn’t even there, and it somehow happened without me realizing it.

Things I remember:

  • Asking Mr. Taco (incredulously) who went. I specifically asked if David and Sonia went; we just went to their wedding.
  • Feeling disappointed, but commenting that “at least there were photos.” You know, because I missed the whole thing. What? Dream Me sucks, man; she missed her whole wedding and that’s the first thing she says? I guess it’s what I thought to say, but anyway…
  • Mr. Taco telling me about something he and his brother were doing before the ceremony. Grabbing a bite, maybe?

I don’t really assign big time important meanings to dreams, especially since mine boringly center on things I’m worried about at the time. But I’ll try to remember this one; perhaps a subconscious reminder to actually enjoy my wedding, the fun things we have in store, and the dear friends and family from near and far.

I should note that I’m sure the wedding binder, various paper/craft stores, contracts, and swatches have made appearances in dreams. I thankfully don’t remember any of those, and it would be such crap if I did.

Any similar wedding dreams out there? Any lessons learned from your pesky subconscious? Anyone have as much enjoyment FAIL as my Dream Me?

I had a similar dream too! In my dream I made it to the point where I was with my dad ready to walk down the aisle and then next thing I know, it was the next morning. I, too was horrified that I missed everything and wondered about the dancing and the food, and how the decorations came out. I too thought about pictures, and was thankfull for them, but was disapointed that I didn’t have a video because I was sad that I missed the cermony. Interestingly enough, I also think it was a message to myself to slow down and ENJOY every bit of this.

I’ve had that dream. It’s the night of the wedding but everything happened and I don’t remember it. Then I go home and all my favors are still there, nobody remembered to pass anything out.

Haven’t had this dream but it sounds awful!! Usually mine are all about forgetting something though. Usually the flowers, candles, my dress, shoes, or anything for that matter!!

ah the wedding dream…I am not stranger to them, although I think they were more frequent when I was further out…weird!

I have that dream so many times! It really upsets me when I wake up because it’s happened so many times!

I’ve had wedding dreams/nightmares, and like you, they’re usually based on something that was worrying me all day.

I hate wedding nightmares! They always happen as if we had our wedding right at the stage of planning we’re currently in without the other details coming together — so they’re always very frantic/stressful!

In one, we had to stop at the mall on the way to the church because I didn’t have any shoes! Then in another I had later, we had forgotten to order food, so my dad starting making breakfast food (like eggs and waffles…) to feed everyone waiting — what??!!

I had a ton of wedding nightmares, usually about one of us not going through with the wedding the day of. And even 2 weeks after the wedding, I just had another a few nights ago where the diamond in my ring crumbled to pieces and I was devastated. Hopefully these dreams will stop eventually!

Yikes! That one is pretty bad. Mine are mostly the same thing, not being ready, over and over and over.
