On Thursday morning I woke up and couldn’t believe it. The wedding day, 11 months of planning, everything I had been anxiously awaiting was finally here! I hopped in the shower and we hit the breakfast buffet like every other morning that week. When we got back to the room, Mr. N was off to hit the pool and he asked me what my perfect wedding morning would be. I didn’t want to get all sweaty and my plan was to let my hair air-dry which can take hours with my mop, so I decided to have a quiet morning by myself on the balcony lost in a book. It was exactly what I needed to keep myself from getting antsy. About an hour after Mr. N left the room, I got this in a text on my phone…

Seriously, how sweet is he?
And just then, as I was trying to keep the butterflies at bay, the rain started. And it wasn’t just a little drizzle, it was a full-on downpour. But it was only noon and the wedding wasn’t until 5:30 so I tried to ignore it by telling myself that it would stop. And about an hour later, it let up for the most part. Whew.
The plan was for me to start my makeup at 2:00, Sharon would be coming to my room at 3:00 to do my hair, and our photog friend Blair Stoehrmann would be joining us for pictures. We also had about 20 shades of polish for anyone that wanted to join us and paint their nails. The minutes ticked by so fast and before I knew it, it was time to put on my face. Sharon and Blair came a little early and my mom stopped by for some makeup…

Once our faces were all beautified, it was time to tackle my hair which was no small task considering my hair gets BIG in humidity. Think Monica in Barbados. We never did a hair trial but I had full faith in Sharon’s magic.

This is about the time that I started getting antsy, and then cousin Megan swooped in like a champagne angel…

We all did a toast, then it was back to the hair…
Before the hair flowers went in, Blair took some amazing shots with all of my accessories…

Time for the flowers and the veil…

I don’t know how she does it! My hair was pure perfection. Once my makeup and hair were finished, it was time to get into my dress – I had about 30 minutes until I was being picked up to head to the lobby. I have to mention that my dress continued to amaze me the whole trip. After being bunched over my arm for hours in airports and shoved into the plane’s overhead compartment, when I took it out of the garment bag it didn’t have any wrinkles. I fully expected to have to have it steamed when we arrived, but I didn’t have to. Big kudos to my truly amazing dress…
