Wedding Day Pretties

May 13th, 2010 @ 1:27 pm by Mrs. Ribbons

Some time ago, I talked about my wedding day jewelry: a rhinestone hair doodad and earrings. It took me a while to be able to actually decide between the two earring contenders due to the fact my left ear piercing closed and I had to get it re-pierced!

Last weekend marked the point at which I could take out the tyke earrings. I jumped in front of the mirror to try on both pairs of earrings and I was completely wowed by the studs. Enormous and sparkly, I felt like an ex-wife of Donald Trump, in a good way. But even with big first wife earrings, I felt a little bare, so I went out and bought a bracelet on sale. It is perfection. I have a funny neurosis about wearing earrings and a necklace together; don’t ask.

Of course, the wedding get-up isn’t complete without perfume. I bought a small bottle of Miss Dior Cherie just for the wedding and honeymoon. The plan is to wear it on anniversaries and other special events, but we’ll see how that shakes out!

Was finding your wedding day accessories a lengthy process? More importantly, did you have to get your ears re-pierced?

I have that same neurosis! I blame CoCo Chanel - before you leave the house, remove 2 accessories!

gorgeous. I’m also going with earrings and a bracelet… there’s something about throwing a necklace in there that just seems too busy - agreed!

Hooray!! I’m a Miss Dior Cherie bride too… that’s been my “signature scent” for the last couple years. It’s fabulous! :)

No re-piercing for me, but I need to get moving on bridal accessories! Yours are coming together beautifully.

Thank you! I thought I was the only one who didn’t wear earrings with a necklace. Once in a while I’ll where my Tiffany silver balls with a simpe necklace but it’s still too much! Love the kate spade earrings. Are they super sparkly? I want some sort of stud with sparkle for my bridesmaids. Their dresses are not so traditional so I don’t want their earrings to clash. I’m already afraid that the flowers will crash with their royal blue floor length dress with silver braided straps!! I wish I could google greek goddess earrings because that’s exactly what I’m looking for.

I never wear the trifecta of jewelry, it’s always earrings and bracelet, or necklace and bracelet, but not all three at the same time! Way too much going on!

I had to get mine re-pierced!!!! I was much more nervous this time too.

And it hurt worse :P

I have a super long giraffe neck so I can wear earrings with necklaces without looking too done-over…. but I can’t do a statement necklace with long earrings, one or the other usually has to take a shadow.

So nice to see that I’m not alone on the earrings=no necklace stance! I’m also doing earrings and a bracelet…if I can just find the right pieces!

I MUST have those earrings!!! Everything goes great together and I am also doing the earrings, bracelet signature scent thing. :) And since I want an elaborate hairpiece, I think studs would look better than dangly earrings.

Great setup, ma’am. I’d do the bracelet and earrings combo if my wrists weren’t filled with giant bones and I didn’t have broad palms. I look like a silly pants wearing most bracelets. :p

I’ll probably just hit some pearl or diamond studs. I feel le boring, but oh well.

I bought some perfume for the wedding and special events as well! But I love it so much, I think I might end up wearing it all the time!

I am the same way, except I usually only wear earrings. For the special day I will wear earrings and a bracelet, no necklace.

Miss Dior Cherie is definitely a good wedding gift. It creates a perfect setting in honeymoon. The jewelry is just elegant and a must have. Thanks for sharing.
