About Ms. Stripes

Yes. You read correctly. My red soled romance is over. Done. Finished.

And we never even went all the way (down the aisle).

They were beautiful while they lasted though:

Breaking Up with Mr. Louboutin : wedding los angeles shoes 11 1

Yikes! How did this happen, you may ask?

Rewind a few weeks. I may have developed a *tiny* crush on another pair of shoes. No big deal—just a stolen glance here and there. A quick stroke of the luminous satin as I passed by. And then we started spending more time together due to the nature of my work. I may have enjoyed an iced soy latte or two in the shoe department. And then I brought them home. And it was a bit awkward.

So Saturday I bit the bullet and broke up with Mr. Louboutin. I know. I know. Who does that?

I tried to explain all the way back to Sak’s. I used all the classics:

It’s not you, it’s me. You don’t lift me up. You don’t give me wings.

Not like my new loves. And so without further ado I give you my effin’ amazing Miu Mius:

Breaking Up with Mr. Louboutin : wedding los angeles shoes 21 2

Spectacular right?! Sky high and covered in birds. It feels like we were meant to be together. And way back before that sneaky Mr. Louboutin swept me off my feet, you may remember that I was desperately looking for a cute platform/wedge to no avail. It was a tough journey, but with a little perseverance and a wandering eye I (think) I’ve finally found the wedding shoes of my dreams.

Any other footwear infidelities or accessory indecision to confess? Anyone else more concerned with their footwear than their actual dress?

Um I was thinking when I read your “2 brides in dresses” post how cute the Louboutins looked, but how wedding-ish and awesome those short dresses would look with some bangin’ heels. Mission accomplished. If the Lous are comfortable, I’d use them as my back-up dancing pair, but I guess not at that price. Boo.

oh my. those ARE gorgeous. they seem way more you than the other shoes (with what I know of you that is)… now, are you normally a heel person? I am struggling with shoes myself.

Decisions, decisions……gawd… I love both of them, though. I do love the love flats. For you as a short dress bride though, I def like your new choice better. Those heels will rock your short dress. Not that you need any help rockin… :-)

@Miss Seahorse: Well once a very long time ago I WAS a heel person (in SF no less) although I mostly wear flats now (and mens lace-up flats at that!). Nonetheless I love how a killer pair of heels look with a dress so I’m gonna rely on a combo of ballet instilled balance and alcohol induced courage to keep ‘em on and dancing as long as possible!

Ummm… so you want to know what I heard? I heard that Loubey already has another girl. And… get this! He was cheating on you. I’m not gonna name any names, but starts with an S and ends with a cissors.

Love the new shoes. And the old ones.
