Lobsterlette Party!

May 17th, 2010 @ 5:24 pm by Mrs. Lobster

The Lobsie Twins have planned the Lobsterlette Party!! And it’s not the usual strippers and dildos-type party. Instead we are taking a trip to (guess, guess):

Lobsterlette Party! : wedding bachelorette party brooklyn 16 1

Woohoo!

That’s right! Atlantis Paradise Island! Here’s what’s in store for us:

Artificial but awesome water structures:

Scary

And Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber

Just kidding. We’re actually gonna miss him by a couple weekends. But if you’re a fan, go check him out!

When the Lobsie Twins asked me for my bachelorette wish list I made one thing clear - anything as long as there was beach and sun. My sisters and I have never taken a vacation without our parents before in our 25+ years of life.

The bachelorette turned out to be a lesson in letting go of control - the first time I did in wedding planning. It was nice! Each of us will be coming from different cities so it’ll be a great reunion at the Nassau airport!!

Have you thought about a trip instead of a party for your bachelorette? Did you help in planning or was it all a surprise?

Oh, Miss Lobster. I do not wish to rain on your parade. I have been to Atlantis, and I know it is AWESOME. However, be prepared. It is also INSANELY EXPENSIVE. Please budget enough money to pay $10 for a plain hamburger with an additional $3 for fries and another $2.50 for a single can of soda. I am not exaggerating. You will have an amazing time, you will be wowed by the incredible beauty of the resort, and you will also be blown away by how expensive every drink, snack and meal at the resort can be.

Well, at least those prices are pretty comparable to NYC and Boston! You and I will feel right at home ;-). Looking at booking a trip there, can’t wait to see your recaps!

i just came back from there, its gorgeous, expensive but so worth it :) Remember to take your camera! I ended up taking so many pictures i had to download them to my laptop to clear space for more. Their aquarium is amazing, as are the slides. The one you pictured, is actually several seperate ones. Two of which go through the shark tank, the one that goes straight down goes to quick for you to actually see it, but the other one you can go down alone or in pairs and get a good view of the shark tank from inside :) Any other questions you may have just ask, ive been there a few times :)

Miss Lobster!!

I need your advice…I am also a bridesmaid in another wedding and we are ALSO going here for her bachelorette…(the decision of the MOH and Bride) and I have to ask…. Are you expecting your BMs and MOH to pay for your hotel and airfare?

Although I am grateful to be in my friends wedding I don’t think I should have to foot her entire bill for the 4 day bachelorette, in addition to flying thousands of miles for her wedding….

Any advice?

TIA!!!

Awsome!!!! I have looked at the slide there on line before and someday want to go down it.
Sounds like a great girls trip. A little out of the budget for my group right now but I hope you have a blast. I know when my “girls party” is and can’t wait to see what they do. I think it will be beach theamed but on the mid -Atlanic coast.

Ugh, so jealous! However, I do have to agree with jenmar10. It is an amazing place but super expensive! Bring $6 for a cup of coffee! :) It is such an amazing place but expensive. We ended up takign a little boat or taxi into the town every day for lunch and ate some amazing local food at much mroe reasonable prices. If you need a personal tour guide I would be happy to assit! Ha

@jenmar10: thanks for the heads up! I’ve heard that from a lot of people and we’re hoping some extra travel out of the resort and snack packing will make the costs more bearable
@Scrapbook: ooh a slide through the shark tank? that is pretty crazy
@Meagan Lindsay: That’s a tough one. I would ask the MoH what the bride’s expectations are. It’s possible you each could contribute some but not all of the bride’s way. I booked my own airfare and my sisters are paying for my hotel (I’ll get them back when they get married.) The rest of my BMs are paying for their share only. I am lucky and do greatly appreciate that my friends are coming with me to celebrate.
@Miss Trail Mix: I love me a good lazy river
@Mrs. Pug: of course you don’t get it. it’s justin beiber’s world and we’re just living in it.
