Mrs. Hermit Crab's Picture
Mrs. Hermit Crab, New York, NY Age and Occupation: 24, Youth Director soon to be Grad Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Medical Student - soon to be Surgery Resident Engagement Date: October 11, 2008 Wedding Date: June 2010 Venue: New York Botanical Garden About Me: I love all things food, books, our furbaby, Rashi, and adventures with my amazing fiance (oh, and saving the world!). This summer I will not only be a bride, but a bridesmaid, officiant, and attendee as well---it's all about weddings in my life right now, full of so many exciting moments and projects. We're planning a fab New York City wedding weekend full of family, love and lots of color!
About Mrs. Hermit Crab

You have already seen our wooden table numbers, and now I wanted to share with you what else will be going on the tables. I am so excited to finally show you what I have been working on!

I had the idea for this as soon as we got engaged. Of course, I left it until the last two months to complete, but it’s coming out amazingly either way. Our tables will be numbered traditionally: numerically, from 1 - 26. However, on each of the tables will be pictures of each of us at that age; for example, at Table Five, there will be pictures of us at age 5. Are you ready to see how I’ve put it together? I’m going to split these into a couple posts because otherwise you may actually go into cuteness shock! (All pictures are personal photos.)

Us before age one - I’m not sure what to put on here for age—any suggestions?

Just FYI - Mr. Hermit Crab is always on the left (although, of course, I think that will be fairly obvious). Also, I cut off the blue border on the bottom in this picture, sorry!

You’ll probably notice that I’ve used flowers in each of them - I thought it would be a great way to tie them all together (sorry about the flash spot!)

As it turns out, Mr. Hermit Crab really will be a doctor when he grows up! And of course, I have never stopped loving the phone. :)

Age seven - this might be the last time Mr. Hermit Crab played soccer

So what if we had professional pictures taken, didn’t everyone? ;)

Stay tuned for the second installment: The Awkward Years, the Teen Years and Present!

I cut the paper to 8 x 10 so I can put them in standard frames on each table. I also have another plan for these babies (eek!) which I will reveal soon.

Did you have a project you were particularly excited about? Did you have an idea for project really early on but still leave it for the end, like me?

Are you going to use the baby page for your head/sweetheart table?

But wait! If you’re 24…. what will you do for tables 25 and 26? (Better fire up that time machine!)

Cute idea –good conversation starters! We only had 12 tables, so this coulda worked, but finding photos of hubs and I at all of the different ages might have been damn near impossible (school pics?). I admire your determination!

@daydreamwanderer: haha most people say I look exactly the same since day 1! Please do and send pictures!
@puzzle: @Miss Pudding: @eileen marie: @amanda.lynn: thanks!@polkadotbridetobe: thanks! I went with “Babies”
@puzzle: We are going to use it on the place card table (our table is number 15)
@mak418: I’m actually going to be 25 a week after the wedding, so I used my creative license and coming up you’ll see what I did for 26…
@Perk: haha such a good idea we are planning to do that!

I *love* this idea for table numbers! I had thought of doing it myself a while back, but now I’m not sure because of how many tables we might have! I’ll only be 24 when we’re married, so I don’t know what I’d do if we had more than 24 tables…

This is such a great idea, except, I will be having more tables than my age so this presents some problemas. Plus, I’m not sure I’ll be able to find pix of us at each age.
