When I left off we were in the middle of a mad dash to get to get from the bridal tea to the rehearsal dinner. We were already an hour behind schedule and I had been warned over and over by the cathedral coordinator that we had to start the rehearsal on time! By the time we walked out the door our apartment looked like a bomb had gone off (who am I kidding, it looked like ANOTHER bomb went off on top of the previous planning bombs), and Mr. Cloud had decided that for the sake of time he would come back after dinner to get his personal items. We packed my tiny Civic any my MOH’s Jeep to the brim with bridal party gifts, my wedding accessories, and last minute reception items and headed downtown to the Jefferson Hotel to check in. A quick clothes change later and we were back at valet getting back into our cars to go to the cathedral. Our photographer Jessica Oriole Salay of Oriole Photography was already there getting some amazing shots of the church.

My MOH got in her car with a few other bridesmaids and Mr. Cloud also headed out with a groomsman. The problem was the valet ticket for my car (with all the bridal party gifts that needed to go to the rehearsal in it) was still in his pocket! I don’t know why I assumed he had handed it off before he left, but after standing there for a few minutes one of the bellmen asked me if I needed some help. I thought I was waiting for my car and they just thought I was a crazy lady standing on the curb! Luckily they felt bad for me when I explained that I was now ten minutes late for my own wedding rehearsal and found the car without the ticket. I also realized that I had forgotten the readings for the ceremony, and was having a little panic over how fast things were moving. Daddy Cloud was waiting for me outside the cathedral when I pulled up to assure me everything was going to be OK. Mr. Cloud also came and met me, and as we walked down the aisle that first time, our wedding party and family that was waiting to rehearse began to applaud. Cue waterworks from me.
The church coordinator led us in a brief prayer to start things off before explaining how the rehearsal would work. Our planner, Windy Jennings was also on hand to be sure things went smoothly. At my very first meeting with Windy we had agreed that I would hand off our programs at the rehearsal and let go of the control, and stress, of the wedding details. I can’t tell you what a relief that was, and how thankful I was to have her there to make sure all of my plans would be executed. Now I just had my own wedding jitters to worry about!

Everyone headed to the back of the cathedral to start from the beginning. I think its safe to say everyone was pretty excited, but I think this is when Mr. Cloud started to feel the jitters too!

It took a while to round up the troops, but eventually our very large party lined up and took their turn at practicing going down the aisle. While this was probably boring for the boys, the girls (myself included) were eager to practice walking down the very long aisle in heals.

I nervously chatted with Daddy Cloud the whole way down the aisle. I have no idea what I was talking about, but I do remember him telling me to be quiet and slow down more than once. By the time we reached the altar it was time for business. Daddy and Mr. Cloud practiced the pass off and I was desperately trying to pay attention and remember all of the instructions.

Notice where Mr. Cloud is looking? I think he was busy paying attention to his groomsmen who I have a feeling were paying a little less attention than I was.

Step by step we went through everything. Apparently it was all very funny since we are laughing in most of the pictures. This also might explain why I didn’t remember many of those instructions the next day. Whoops!

I had to share this next picture because I remember at this point my self-diagnosed ADD was kicking in. Apparently so was our flower girl’s, look closely between Mr. Cloud and our Priest!

Other than fading attention spans, everything was going smoothly. But in true Cloud Wedding form we couldn’t end things like that! This is the last picture from the rehearsal I was in..

Stay tuned to see why how the Clouds kept it interesting and incredibly embarrassing all at the same time!
