By now, you know what our guests will be eating at the reception; however, I never talked about our cocktail hour munchies! I love cocktail hours - more than once, I’ve stood outside the kitchen exit with Sis Hamster or my bridesmaids, just so we could have prime pickings. Yes, we are “those people”.
We are going with a mix of fancy-pantsy and casual for our hors d’oeuvres selection. First, the fancy-pantsy:
1. Watermelon cube with goat cheese and extra virgin olive oil
2. Terrine of foie gras on brioche toast
I list “duck fats” in my profile. Of course we’re having this.
3. Mission figs with gorgonzola
4. Caviar on blini
5. Roasted baby lamb chop with fresh rosemary
6. Coconut langoustines
Something I learned today: langoustine = “real big shrimp”
7. Wild mushroom risotto ball
8. Short ribs of beef spring roll with hot sauce
9. Prosciutto and sage palmier
I always thought they were called butterfly cookies.
Next, what y’all have been waiting for - the casual assortment!
1. Assorted mini pizzettes
2. Parmesan crusted gougeres
OMG. I love these. They are fancy Cheezypoofs.
3. Mini sliders
4. Mini grilled cheeses

5. And the piece de resistance…

We will also be having a seafood station, sushi station, a Peking duck station and a carving station. I’m all picture-searching’ed out, but I’m sure you can imagine. And THEN, after that - the dinner. It’s a lot of food, but I know the Hamster guests are up for the challenge.
